I have a 2.5" External enclosure from Bafo with a 40GB Seagate I believe. It doesnt require power, it gets it from USB.
This thing doesnt want to work in either my A7N8X-DX or A7N8X-X. It works on an Intel 845, and a Dell with a 2ghz P4, I dont know the chipset, but it only works in this Dell if the power cable is connected. It also works in my Asus K7Pro (USB 1.1). All of these PCs have Windows XP Pro
When I plug it up to the 2 A7N8X's, it says new hardware was not properly installed. Tried rebooting, tried looking in the HD manager, nothing. Device manager has ! by it.
On the K7Pro and the Intel 850, it works automattically on insertion. With the Dell, it works as soon as I plug up the power cable, which isnt required on the Intel mobo.
Also, if it is plugged into either A7N8X or unpowered on the Dell, the systems will not enter windows, and the A7N8X-X wont even post bios. Any ideas?
