eVGA Voltage Tuner!

I'll be waiting for the 55nm GTX 260 version, exciting though.

Apparantly you can do this with RivaTuner and it works with any 65nm GT200 and 4870. Too, bad my vrms already get too hot for my liking. :(

I found the RT command-line stuff and found that my 260 is only getting 1.063v by default - seems that Im stuck on 2D voltage even though my clocks are stuck in 3D. Upping it to the correct 1.125v took me from 1512 on the shaders to 1566. 1620 gives me visual artifacts, but with 1.15v these are gone (ATiTool finds the odd delta, but I don't actually see any errors). The core is sitting at 66c with 100% fan, and from what I've read this is the problem (temps over 65c hamper shader clocks). So my guess is that it's a combination of temps and voltage (which is how it was with my X1900XT and, of course, CPU's), not one or the other. Until I put it under water I won't know for sure, but I'm almost certain I can do 1620 shaders artifact-free with 1.15v if I can get temps down a bit.
EDIT: Have tried 1.20v but is no better than 1.15v
The voltage should increase by itself by default, what does the BIOS have set?
I should get around to doing this. My 260s are definately voltage impaired. They start artifacting at 750 core. I'm running water so heat isnt an issue. 31 idle, 40ish under load.
Exactly what I was discussing before. I think you'll get a lot out of this program if you haven't done any v-mods or voltage modification through the BIOS yet.

Works on my X2, set 1.3v from the 1.26v stock.

That's not Precision related product so that's wrong subforum to ask a question about it. But even considering that I'm not anyway related to this tool development and actually read about for for the first time just a few hours ago, I'm almost 100% certain that it will never work on GF9 series in future. Reference design GTX 200 series use external programmable Volterra VRMs giving you software voltage adjustment possibility. GF9 don't have such ICs installed.

BIOS settings are all standard, but as said my card has never performed any mode switching. It always runs 3D clocks and, until I found otherwise, I thought this meant it was always running 3D voltage (which is 1.12v in the BIOS). I flashed the BIOS in the past to no avail, but because it did 756/1512/1260 I didn't want to RMA. Messing around with RT profiles to get the job done is a PITA, but this card's a keeper ;)
I've ordered the swifty GTX200 heatsink so will finally have a use for my MCW-60.

Oh well hell, if you're already flashing the BIOS just write your own profiles and f' all :p. That's what I did. Note that if you use some programs like Rivatuner, it won't downclock the damn card like it should. I also noticed that my card won't downclock if I leave Steam open. There's some idiosyncratic stuff like that that you just have to look out for.

RT profiles assigned to hotkeys is about as good as it gets for me, since it's the only way I can downclock. If RT and Precision prevent downclocking, I don't see how I'd be able to know for sure that it was actually working without them running! Didn't affect my 4870 anyway.

YAAY my GTX 285s were sitting on my couch, what a perfect home-from-classes surprise :D :D :D, can't wait to post pictures when my build starts.

Now hopefully the voltage thing comes through...

You have to run Furmark and monitor your VRM temps. I need to know how much of a difference the added voltage makes. Also are you on stock cooling? Thanks. :)
It works on an X2 thats awesome. Any benches yet how much extra were you able to get on the core?

Its on water, temps don't change much if at all. It did quite well on stock 860/1000 easily. I haven't bothered looking for more tbh. Just wanted to see if it worked.

On a referance X2, I added a few voltages to a batch file for desktop selection. Obviously use your own value, path ect, works well though.

Code:
ECHO off
REM Voltage control for X2 users batch file.
SET RIVAPATH= "C:\Program Files (x86)\RivaTuner v2.22\RivaTuner.exe"
cls
ECHO Graphics Vgpu selection menu.
ECHO ===================
ECHO Press 1 for Default
ECHO Press 2 for 1.30v
ECHO Press 3 for 1.35v
ECHO Press 4 for 1.40v
ECHO ===================
CHOICE /C:1234 /T 10 /D 1 /M "Which voltage?"
IF ERRORLEVEL == 4 GOTO 1.40v
IF ERRORLEVEL == 3 GOTO 1.35v
IF ERRORLEVEL == 2 GOTO 1.30v
IF ERRORLEVEL == 1 GOTO Default
:Default
ECHO ===================
ECHO Default
CALL %RIVAPATH% /sd0 /wi1,70,18,41 /sd2 /wi1,70,18,41
GOTO END
:1.30v
ECHO ===================
ECHO 1.30v
CALL %RIVAPATH% /sd0 /wi1,70,18,44 /sd2 /wi1,70,18,44
GOTO END
:1.35v
ECHO ===================
ECHO 1.35v
CALL %RIVAPATH% /sd0 /wi1,70,18,48 /sd2 /wi1,70,18,48
GOTO END
:1.40v
ECHO ===================
ECHO 1.40v
CALL %RIVAPATH% /sd0 /wi1,70,18,4C /sd2 /wi1,70,18,4C
GOTO END
:END
exit

Thats good to hear. You've got a mean card there. 860 stock is impressive. I wish that I had the money for a water setup right now. I might pick up an HR-03 and some enzotech memory and mosfet sinks soon though. I should see decent temps with that and a solid fan.

Well, I think the big seller here is the warranty. People have been volt-modding their cards for quite some time, but I think this will be the first time it will be under warranty. I haven't seen that in writing from EVGA, but why would they release a tool that would kill their fabulous warranty?

Now, XFX....Where is MY voltage tuner?! lol...
