EVGA RMA Problems. :(

The previous poster notwithstanding, the fact that we have not just one but (count 'em) two EVGA people monitoring this forum and trying to help people is enormously impressive. Enough so that I have been convinced to switch from years of using Asus for my cards to EVA for my new 8800GTX.

Fortunately, it worked fine out of the box, no problems at all other than the vista driver issue we all know and love. But I feel if I ever do need support, EVGA will be a hell of a lot better to deal with than most companies. Makes spending $600 for a bleeding edge graphics card a much less scary propisition.

Just wanted you EVGA guys to know that there is at least some positive ripple effect for your attempts to help people out here.

I am being helped out by EVGA ,but it is mostly by a person that DOES NOT GET PAID!! He doesn't even get free hardware. Everytime I have had any forward movement it is from RussianHAXOR. What are the people that are being paid to do a job, really doing?

Now you apply this to the well documented fact that anything that you buy has the cost of warranty built into it. So if EVGA is growing too fast, that means they have allot more money to apply to their support and warranty departments, or they are pocketing the excess.

Not that I dont realize that shit falls through the cracks sometimes, but consider this. I had a 7900 GTX that ran well (even in the whole 79 series debacle) and I stepped up to the 7950 GX2 cuz it cost me 20 bux plus shipping. So I thought "what the hell". So I waited patiently (I live in Canada) and after about a month or more I got my card. To my dismay it was borked out of the box. So, I have to do it all over again and becasue of the 7900 troubles they no longer did cross-shipping. So I had to wait for almost three weeks for it to get back to EVGA and then about a week for them to ship another one and then 2 weeks for it to arrive.

Just in time for the card to crap out again I start seeing a bunch of people complaining of RMA probs. Most likely because of the 680i problems in tandem with their normal RMA percentages. But like most I assumed it was just "slipping through the cracks issues". Well my RMA was shipped back to me and it is borked exactly the same as the old card.

My RMA has been going on since Feb 23rd and I am getting close to the end of my patience. I also do not pretend to think that EVGA has the worst RMA record, but if you think they are so great how come there are so many threads with near irreversably screwed RMA's goin on at the moment. It is easy to say a company is all mountain roses untill they get too big to handle their workload. Also I think I should say that I have an 8800GTX an 8800 GTS 320 and a 7900 GX2, all EVGA, si I have put my thought into my purchases. But at the rate they are going I may not buy another. Fool me once your fault, fool me twice my fault. I have had 2 dead cards shipped to me and not so much as a "sorry, we will get this done asap". Evey avenue has hit another painfully slow snag that leads to another.

So far all I have left is my faith in HAXOR. Thanks again for all your help .

Why doesn't EVGA just send out a new card to people that RMA rather than send them defective used shit back? I wish someone would pass a law prohibiting these fucking companies from screwing consumers over with fixed old ass shit for essentially new hardware. This isn't just limited to EVGA either, look at Microsoft and how many people they shafted with RMA'd Xbox 360's to get an idea of what b.s. this all is.

I wish EVGA had people like RussianHAXOR working in customer service. It seems like the guys they do have over there are too busy to give a shit about customer service, which is a shame.

There is another person that has obviously been on the phone a time or two with EVGA.

Joe, if you are reading this you really need to think about how this can be fixed. It is THAT bad.

Im sorry that you guys have had such problematic experiences with EVGA and i hope to do my best and assist you to the best of my ability so that all your issues are resolved.

I am starting to get frustrated too. I paid for second day shipping, and was told it would be 2-3 business days before it shipped. I was more or less guaranteed that I would get my replacement card by tomorrow, and shipping is still pending. It took until yesterday just to get the RMA verified. It took my calling in to a customer service rep, who instantly verified it, when doing it without calling in took more than 3 days. This would normally not be a problem, but considering this is my 3rd bad card out of 4 EVGA's I've owned, I am beginning to get ticked off.
