EVGA Overtake

Wasn't there a big to do when the Fermi cards were cripple to make the Kelper cards fold better?
And will they cripple Kelper to get Maxwell working good. Now that would piss a few people off.

On The EVGA overtake, looks like there are quite a few folders stopping folding, besides the BA thing, EVGA raised the folding bucks program up to 750,000/1,500,000 points for the 5/10$
I just hope they move on to crunching.
 
When I folded I did so despite a tripling of our monthly electrical bill.

When I saw the attitude from Stanford and PG and FF towards anyone with a complaint, I shut down for good.

They were dicks back then, and it sounds like they still are. So why bother? If you want to DC, put it towards something that treats you like a valuable member, not a beta tester or a worm. I still don't understand what we did going towards anything; I honestly don't. I won't say it was "in jest" because I'm not educated enough about the things going in...however they didn't give me any warm fuzzy feelings about anything like my contribution did x or y towards z. It's like I helped provide power to a secret society that wanted nothing more from me than a ton of processing cycles.

I've lost both parents in the last year and dad died from a reoccurrence of prostate cancer after a decade plus of remission. I almost fired back up (in his honor) because of that, but then I remembered how they treat donors and decided even dad wouldn't be 'for it'.

I'm more "on the outside looking in" now in this regard, but I miss the [H]orde community; it was like a fraternity that let everyone in and no one wanted to be anywhere else. I don't, however, miss being treated like a piece of shit by Stanford/PG/FF.

I was wondering what happened. I got on the extremfolding stats page (sorry, but I love theirs...) and saw Hardfolding going down, hard.

I'll keep my misc gpu's folding for now. I'll revisit the scene in a few months and decide if i need to go to boinc/etc.

the dnet clients (RC5, OGR, MUON etc..)
The Skynets Source Finder
And probably more
 
The forum is Distributed Computing, so #[H]ardDC or #HardDC would be ideal in my opinion.
 
And its happened, EVGA retook the lead sometime during the night, never to be caught again:(:(
 
Was just coming back to the forums to see whats up, just got back from Afghanistan 4 weeks ago, wanted to see if the team was still around, saw this.

I can't say why others left but I can second the idea of PG shit'n on us. For me, I've spent 2.5 years of the last 5 deployed to war zones, when ever I get back everything I had before is suddenly garbage. And now I see the BA snafu, it's the same story over and over again.

While I don't have any of my old 2P or 4P servers anymore, but I'm glad this time I sold them before I left, seeing as how now 2 of them wouldn't do BA's and the 4P would be junk now too.

I may have to find some time somewhere and set up a basic client for whatever the team moves on too, but I feel the same way as others here, the spark is gone, I have no desire to do anything more for F@H.

I remember when I first joined and my first surge with this team, I made it all the way to number 9 on the daily producers list (I was cranking out a BLAZING 23k ppd from my whole farm lol) and got up to 32nd total score on the whole team. Now I'm all the way back down to 83rd and have no desire to carry on, even after being here for all the monkey madness years and the evga race

Sad. But, if we ever move as a team into another project, let me know, I would fire up a simple CPU rig in a heart beat for the Horde

2P & 4P will still rule the roost at the end of BA - it will just be for less points and closer to the top end GPU's.

Well we did have a 2.something billion lead - even with a gain of 20 million a day it would have taken some doing.

At some point I would us like to return and give EVGA another pasting but I think that it is going to take some serious humble pie from VJ to do that.

Humble pie or not, I think the big players on our team are checked out on the f@h project. It is a case of a "little too late"

Another factor is that HardOCP wasn't the only team to have people feel strongly (and lose some Folders) from the PG/VJ issues. EVGA lost some too over the whole thing. Couple that loss with that very large delta in points between EVGA and HardOCP and I'm not surprised that it took this long.

I'd love to see VJ address the issues that many of us (personally) raised with him, but I just heard the winged fluttering of a swine. :rolleyes:
 
As a member of EVGA I've taken it to just fold for the bucks... simply because I won't abandon it all. I don't fold 24/7. Eh.. it's just banking a loss in hardware money for me.

I mostly Crunch now. More fun, less drama and a ton of projects.

I really don't care and I won't contribute anymore points to overtaking [H] than is required for the bucks. I once was passionate and now I find myself cold, distant and leery of PG and the group.

I would rather meet you all on the battlefield of BOINC... than Folding@home.

The victory would and is hollow without a full participation of both teams.

And thats not a slam on you Viper, it's a state of the scene PG has created, sad. Like we've all said, it just lost it's spark lol
