We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.

whenever i am in aol instant messenger, and i open up an im box windows xp says: error with aim and it needs to close, do you want to send error report?
anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it?

control panel/administrative tools/event viewer(check the system log). If there are too many entries you can clear it and then run aim, check event viewer after aim borks.

yes, now you can check the event ID and get some info on what is going on:

EventIDInfo

Although usually with software(aim) I uninstall it an reinstall it first. Aol has your account stored online I think, so you shouldnt lose your settings. Do a complete uninstall of AOL softwaare and reinstall their latest version.

Odds are AIM AV'd. If the error is c00000005 it means AIM tried to ask for memory it didn't have permission to read, or write too. Contact Aol. ;)
