OK, I've been out of the scene for a while as work was supplying me my computers. So I picked up some components on Black Friday and Cyber-Monday and have finally completed assembly. I can not believe my system is drawing too much power for the PSU.
I am running the Gigabyte Mercury 3D water-cooled aluminum case.
ABIT IP35-e
E6750 dual, which overclocks nicely to 3.6 at 48-50c
2GB OCZ DDR2 "Gold"
Standard SATA HD and DVD
XFX 8800 GT @670mhz
PSU is the ePower Jaguar. I ran across this review at the time I had the chance to snag it at $23:

My problem is with the 8800 I just put in it. The system will not POST with the card in it, though it is fine with an old PCI Geforce.
On the mobo, I've got the 20 pin power connector and the 4 pin ATX12v connected.
The 8800 has the 6 pin connector on the back of the card, and included a 2-in-1 "Y" connector to combine 2 standard power connectors together into 1 6 pin.
However, the instructions say to -NOT- use this. WTF?
Nonetheless, I've tried running that "Y" connector from my PSU output, and the system will power up, and then off after 4-5 seconds.
And it will just sit there and do that.
There is an ATX4P1 aux. power output from the mobo that I could try to use, however I would need to get yet another extension.
Is this PSU really that underpowered?
Is the inrush current demand at boot simply too much for the psu?
My math is the cpu is 65w, case with mobo, hdd, dvd 65w (max), 8800 110w to total somewhere around 240w.
Am I missing something, does this have to do with single/dual rails, etc?
If I need to get anther PSU, I hear the Corsair 550VX is decent, no?
