Epic Mickey 2

I thought the first one was for Wii only? It'll be a bit disjointed since I have no idea what the first one is about (if I decide to ever play this new one).
 
Odd... I never understood why they jump around on platforms like this. Wii is probably the least likely console for PC gamers to be using, so I can't imagine a huge market for this.

It isn't jumping platforms. It is still be released on the Wii but also going multiplatform to the 360 and PS3 as well and not just the PC.

Well, yeah... what I meant was, you could only play the first game on Wii, but now the equal is on all platforms. How many people does this leave as never having played the first one? I'm betting sales on other platforms won't have much interest.
 
Mickey Mouse is just so god damn bland, they didn't go nearly far enough in their attempt to rebrand him. Maybe some older guys will like it for the nostalgic factor but I gotta wonder if kids just think he's lame, like all the other geriatric cartoon characters out there.

I'd prefer a Bug Bunny game where you go around the world stealing carrots and driving farmers mad to the point they kill themselves. That would be more epic then stupid Mickey painting his friends back to life or whatever boring story line they come up with.
 
Mickey was pretty bad ass in Kingdom Hearts 2 and presumably the other KH games that I haven't played.

Clearly you don't have children. My 2 year old is in LOVE with Mickey. Disney does a great job of keeping the character alive with programming targeted directly to kids on their dedicated Disney Junior channel on TV. MIckey Mouse Clubhouse is probably Disneys most successful kid show. Last year my wife and I went to Disneyland over 140 times. Yea you read that right, over a 140 times (season pass holders). Every single time I go, there is a line ~100 strong to take a picture with Mickey Mouse.. wherever he pops up.

Go to a Six Flags theme park and you might often find Bugs Bunny standing around looking for a kid to high five.

The Disney brand, and specifically Mickey Mouse is probably bigger now than when you were a child. Thats mostly due to the Disney marketing machine that exists, they know what they're doing. Which brings me back to my first point ... clearly you don't have children else you'd have know that.Obviously Disney doesn't spend money marketing Mickey Mouse to older geeks who are PC building enthusiasts.

It's great that your family are Mickey fans, it's just not for me or my kids. Also, their friends don't seem to like him either, in large part because older people like 'em. Of course, they are a bit older then 2, more like 5-7 range. And we are all pretty frugal with money and nowhere near a Disney land so maybe that is a bigger reason. They also aren't into video games yet. My comment was targeting kids who are, which I figure tend to be a bit older, obviously some younger kids play and that can be just fine.

I used to have a bugs bunny game for the.... SNES? I think. That game was frickin HARD. Yosemetie Sam kicked my ass all the time in like the second level, I never got far in it unless Im remembering incorrectly.

I gave up on that game and played Claymates instead. BTW folks, claymates for SNES is way better than any other game ever. I'd like another claymates game..
