You'll have room for overclocking, but you'll be pushing the PSU a bit hard. If you have the budget for it, a PSU upgrade would be a good move, although the HX620 will do the job.
"Doable" meaning is it safe? i just got this psu..not on planning on getting a new gpu for a while...but we know how that goes...=/
Core i7 at 4GHz with 1.35V: about 250Won a guestimate how much wattage would i be pushing? i dont want it to end up breaking my new build
this is on a full load?Core i7 at 4GHz with 1.35V: about 250W
Two 55nm GTX260s in SLI at full load: about 210-220W
Motherboard: about 50W
RAM: probably about 10-15W
HD: about 15-20W
Total: about 550W
Corsair HX850 or HX750, Enermax Revolution85+ 850W, Seasonic M12D 850W or 750W, Antec Signature 850W, PC Power & Cooling Silencer 910W. If you want something cheaper, look at the Antec Truepower New 750W, Corsair TX850 or TX750, or PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750W. There are plenty of other good options, but that's what I came up with off the top of my head.
Be aware that you can just use molex to PCI-E adapters if you'd like to stick with the HX620. But if you can afford it, a new PSU would be a worthwhile purchase.
Then ignore the PC Power & Cooling PSUs, and the Corsair TX series from my list. All the others are modular.ok thanks..i would want a modular psu....
Yes.is it even safe to use molex adapters
