According to this, the Skynet bill is getting a rewrite so it doesn’t sound so scary. Oops, did I say Skynet? I meant the “Emergency Internet Control Bill.”

Sen. Jay Rockefeller alarmed technology and telecommunications firms last year when he announced a plan for the president to seize "emergency" control of the Internet. Now the West Virginia Democrat is trying again with a new version that aides hope will be seen as less extreme.

This has power hungry all over it.

There is no actual word what is in the bill. So what is being told to the people could just be used to sooth the masses.

So is there a way to put the control back to the private sector after the president says he needs the internet? Because once it's inacted, I doubt the government will release control.

The scope of this could only be legally limited to nodes based in the US. Basically cutting the cords at the border so to speak, correct?
 
Believe it or not there are a few groups that still use BBS to communicate today…
 
once the internet was born, pandoras box was open. no matter what they do, all we have to do is start ad-hoc'in our own networks to eachother and viola, the internet! :p the protocol will never die.
 
Watch Zeitgehist .... it explanes alot about the banks/rockerfeller fascism these pricks are working on. No more civil liberties and a one world GOV.... and he's 1 of the major players in it.

hmm too bad america is waking up to this too late..

IMF, World Bank, people in power.. want and will have a one world government..

Also becoming a part of the UN, your country and mined signed a nice little document letting UN Laws overided local laws.. even your famed constituation.. have a look at your national parks.. esp yellowstone..

in america over the course of the next 5 or less years.. guns will be removed off your streets.. doesnt matter who you vote for..the sale there of will be banned and = jail time.. caught with a gun straight to jail.. no nothing.. (happened here and a few other places). the goal to remove the ability of people to rise up against their government..

they will attempt to control the net, and to a large extent they will.. again to make a 1 world government possible you must have absolute control over all media and peoples lives or it will fail.. population too big halve it or less (swine flu vac anyone), easiest way to achieve this is vacines.. put a bug or two in the odd one and cure in the other and done.. mand vaccines and people start dieing..

if the above fails, at the rate the USA government is spending money, you will not be able to pay for your own millitary or any federal program in 15~20 years.. 20 being optomistic, lookes to be 17 years.. your governemt will be dead broke (remember 1991 and russia it couldnt pay its bills and went under..) either way usa will be unfortunetly removed from the world as a world power.. which is sad as i love america, find the people great...

i am totally agains copenheigen because i dont like given over our energy resoursces to the UN.. and letting them decide.. the Carbon Tax must be spent in my country i pay it for for my benefit and my kids benefit.. not for some afircan nation to go and buy weapons to kill each other..

I realize that the choice of words are the article's author, but I find it interesting that he states that aides hope the new version will be seen as less extreme.
That doesn't mean it is less extreme, just re-worded to appear more benign.
