Hey all.

Im looking to update the EDID on my HP LP 2475W Monitor or my Dell 2408wfps.

I have tryed useing power strip but unfortunaly This doesnt work, it fails each time :(

an EDID over ride works but ATI driver look directly at the EDID chip within the monitor and doesnt even look in the registry.

Anyone know of a DOS software that will allow me to Update the EDID with one i have changed to give the correct LCD size? Currently it thinks its a 25.3" when it should be 24".

Ths is a HP fault but they wont change it.

Are you sure the EEPROM in the monitor isn't set read only? If it is, this becomes a hardware hack. If it's not, the only way I have done this myself is using eep24c in Linux. Both ATI and nVidia should work.

The LP2475w has an option in its service menu to Unlock the Protectiion for EDID writeing.

Even though i have done this it still refuses to write :(

Windows ignores the size of the monitor and uses a fixed 96 DPI setting, so I'm curious why you are trying to fix the EDID information at all?
