Don't they same the same thing after every game they release?
Corporate culture is the biggest problem, EA is circling the drain on a consumer confidence level.
I'm calling it now. Titanfall will be a buggy mess when it launches and suffer as much (maybe more) then bf4.
This is not entirely out of the realm of possibility, however It's less likely. That game has been under development for quite a while and Respawn isn't an internal EA studio, they're simply publishing which means there aren't quite the same pressures and choking corporate nonsense in the way.
Based on our prelaunch testing, our beta performance, we were confident the game was ready when it was launched. Shortly after launch, however, we began hearing about problems from our player community, and the development team quickly began to address the situation.

So what have we done since we encountered the problems is we were fortunate to have an architecture in place that allows us to adjust and update the game rapidly, and that's actually what we've done. We released multiple software updates across all platforms to resolve the primary issues and game stability has significantly increased. To the final point, which is how are we learning from this?
Did anyone read the article... this isn't some sort of real we "learnt our lesson statement", it's a bunch damage control excuses.
God help them if they botch Star Wars: Battlefront. It's one thing earning the ire from the modern military shooter crowd, but if you combine them with disgruntled and rabid Star Wars fans; the wrathful choir will sing out and circle the Earth for the better part of the new century.
I thought that's what happened with SWTOR

This! Give me 2143!
This review about sums it up. It's long, but addresses the issues.
