So normally I am not a fan of this type of software. But I noticed you can type in your product key on an EA physical copy disc, and download the digital version online. Pretty cool.

I want to have the digital version on my laptop and desktop, worst case only on the laptop.

Whats the DRM on the digital downloads? Can I only download it from EA ONE time? If that is the case I should wait and do it on my laptop, if it does not matter I want to try downloading it on my desktop right now.

Anyways pretty cool feature I thought. I wanted the digital version but also wanted to be able to play the game launch night at midnight, now EA is giving me the best of both worlds.

Pretty cool I think

It works on most of their games released in the past year or so . I posted a few months back I was able to add a bunch of my games to it.

I'm pretty sure you can redownload as much as you want, or you can backup the download cache directory with the install files in it as well.

EA should stop being rediculous and let steam handle that. I hate publishers that try and push their own version of digital distribution. Steam works...use it - or at least GoG/D2D. I bet we end up with every dang publisher trying to push their own which will just be stupid.

As big of a Steam fan as I am, it doesn't let you add a lot of external games unless they were steam required. Being able to digital download nearly any retail EA game bought is a useful (free) addition. Sure, I'd love to be able to just add the serial number to Steam and be done with it, but that is a very limited option.

ya, either way, they went above my expectactions on that, I was researching it thinking it would be cool, then found out that EA actually has this feature. Definatly a nice addition for Mass Effect 2 for me.
