Ibt stable? Is that the max fsb you went or highest it went?

Keep pushing it.
 
i just hit prime 95 64 bit on the overall system and memtest with 2 simultaneous tests. so far it ran for 5 mins untill the top test blew. this is as good as it gets speed wise (not much room to push) i was restarting and testing for 2 hours. stock proc speed is 2.8ghz, this mobo is fucking genius. ive had this PC for a year now.

i dont know what ibt stands for, as im new to OCing. if you let me know ill try whatever it is. this thing just wont quit.
 
IBT stands for intel burn test. It is a much more punishing test than prime95. The nice thing about ibt is that it can generally determine stability in 10 minutes instead of the 12+ hours that it can take prime95.

Also, if you are only getting prime95 to run for 5 minutes, that is not even close to stable.

Are you running one of the stress tests that it suggests when you open prime95 (blend test, small ffts, etc)? Or are you just running the benchmark? Cause the benchmark doesn't seem to stress anything. Try running the one of the tests listed under "torture test" for a few hours and then let us know if you are actually stable.

well first of all i wont ever run a IBT again as it crashes the system with just initial testing and i find that bad for hardware. hardcore it might be but i dont see bsod spam as good stability testing, just unnecessary stress on shit i payed money for. the cpu small test will probally run forever in 95. i just ran it for 20 mins a few mins ago. how many threads should i run that with? 2 or 1?
 
I am agreeing with the Gorilla that happends to be of Japan origin.

Also, I'm sorry but who ever told you its bad for hardware is full of number 2. If its giving you crashes/Bsod then its not stable period.

I have been using IBT for the last year and never had a problem with hardware, since for one I know not to underestimate my settings and set them right. Which at most all it will do is fail Ibt and some more tweaking makes it stable. If going back to Prime, I would leave it running for 48 hours to determine if its stable.

So run ibt, If it freezes/bsod, it might need a bit more juice to get it stable, if it just fails, keep tweaking it little by little.
 
You can run it more, but that gives you a good idea. If it failed in 5 tests, you'd probably have stability issues during normal tasks. You can run more, but you don't have to. You might get a blue screen or lockup, but probably not often in normal use.

Like I said before. Nice voltage for 4Ghz. Should run like that for a while.
 
i was trying to type a thanks for that comment and a bsod poped few hours back and i lost the reply. thanks all you guys, i appreciate the help and the link to the burn test. ill keep this updated for those who want to know.
