E7400 Overclock Results

So anyone on here have one of these and overclocked decently? I purchased one today and im thinking of selling both my E5200's and just keep this baby, but i has no tim at the moment :(

So what kind of clocks have E7400 owners gotten? I have high hopes of 4.6Ghz under 1.5V.
 
I'm kind of stuck @3.2 with a ep43-ds3l. But I know This chip is def capable of more. I've read of owners easily getting 3.9 on air.
 
Post your bios or your simple settings (Vcore, FSB Frequency, MB Voltage, etc) and ill be happy to help you out.

As for the thread, im sure theres more people out there with a E7400, im sure alot of people bit the $99 deal from frys. ;)

Im heading to frys after work tomorrow and buying some mx-2, i hate looking at the chip on my desk, makes me just scrape the gunk from the stock cooler and use it on my tuniq :eek:
 
I have an e7300 that maxes out at 4GHz. I can hit that with a 400FSB @ 10x multi at 1.52v or 450FSB @ 9x multi at 1.55v. I was surprised how many volts it took to get it Prime stable, but its no issue since the chips under water.
 
I can get my e7200 stable at 4ghz but with 1.48v which is waaay to much. however dropping the overclock 200mhz i can keep it stable at 1.34v

go figure lol
 
I've been running mine at 3.2 for about a week and the highest temps I've seen is 45C, pretty much 36/31,so I just upped the vcore alittle and got to 3.6. I only have 1 stick of ram at the moment, get back after OCCT gets done.
 
The higher my fsb the more volts needed. I can hit 4GHz at a 400FSB with a 10x multi at 1.48v. I can't get it stable at 500FSB at 8x multi, even when I apply nearly 1.6v. At 450FSB my temps under water are 37C idle, 63C under load.
 
That sounds more of a motherboard issue nis, try increase your mb voltage and see if that does it.

I got the E7400 installed today morning and i am very amazed, i was able to boot into windows @ 4.4Ghz @ 1.39V and it was 10 full stress ibt stable, I left prime95 running to test it some more while it did 60 ibt runs and it looks like its stable.

I will post some screenies tomorrow morning with the v10 installed, So far im impressed. Who ever doubted 4.6Ghz, All i gotta say is ''hehehe''
 
I haven't been able to get over 3.6Ghz(8X450), haven't upped vcore past 1.34 though. I'm looking to get some more ram as my Patriot's are going back for RMA. Might just get some 6400 Patriot (LLK)and run them together after my 8500's come back.
 
I haven't gotten any farther, even with my voltage at 1.4v. Not thrilled about goin' any higher.

took vcore to 1.41 and vtt to1.24 and got 3.8. will prime later.
 
Just started testing. This is a first run to discover the min vCore required for 10x400= 4GHz stable.

vCore = ~1.39 (CPU-Z)
VTT = 1.3
NB = 1.32
SB = 1.56

Temp (100% load) = 57 C (on Air)

UPDATE:

SuperPi Mod 1.5 (16M) = Pass
ORTHOS (blended) = Fails in under a minute
ORTHOS (CPU) = Fails in 2 mins

vCore = 1.400 - 1.408 (CPU-Z)

VTT = 1.3
NB = 1.32
SB = 1.56

Temp (100% load) = 58-59 C (on Air)

ORTHOS (CPU) = Fails in 2 mins 3 secs

Well...

vCore = 1.408 - 1.416 (CPU-Z)
vCore = 1.408 - 1.416 (Dual Core Center = MSI's own software)
vCore = 1.410 - 1.420 (PC Wizard 2008.1871)
vCore = 1.42 (SIV 3.34)

VTT = 1.3
NB = 1.32
SB = 1.56

Temp (100% load) = 60 C (on Air)

Super Pi Mod 1.5 = Pass (16M)
ORTHOS (CPU) = Fails after 19 mins

Well, this is weird.

The system locked up and would not get into Windows. I turned everything off to cool it down, started it up again, hit Fail-Safe Defaults and...

vCore = ~1.24 (i.e. default)

but

FSB = 333 (don't know why) and combined with the 10.5 multi = 3.5 GHz at stock voltage!

Haven't run ORTHOS yet, will do tomorrow and reports temps. I will also play an FPS (Fallout 3: The Pitt - anyone?)
