I'm thinking about upgrading to an Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 Wolfdale 2.53GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core CPU and I was wondering if this is a good chip for gaming. Also, does it overclock well and/or run fairly cool?
 
yup great chip OCs very well but get your self a after market HSF even if your not going to OC the one the comes with it is still to small imo
btw the Freezer 7 Pro is dirt cheap and works great with it :D
 
Yes, I have one and it works great. Bumped the FSB to 333 right our of the box at 9.5x. Running at 3.16 for the last week. I had to bump the voltage up to 1.24 to get it stable. Ran Prime on both cores for about 6 hours no errors. before the voltage jump it would error out after 15 minutes. PC has been on now running WoW(off and on) and VNC for about 84 hours.

I have one and run it at 3.1 GHz on stock voltages (1.15 core) and stock cooling. I've had it as high as 3.8 Ghz, but I need better cooling. 3.53 GHz with the stock Intel heatsink hits 85*C (185*F!!!) after 2 hours of Prime. Fully stable though, at 1.3v core.
 
Running mine at 3.94GHz on 1.328V with older all-copper aftermarket HS...
Used to have e6400 at 3.2Ghz... :)
