yup will post the OC results i'm hoping to hit 3.5 ghz which is the minimum... my E6300 is a piece of shit and wont' go over 2.8 ghz so i'm looking forward to the better one

Hell, I'm shooting for 3.8 or better.............:D I've got to do better than my little ole E4300.........:eek:
 
yea haha quick question. I dont' want to jack the thread but if we overclock that new one does it mean faster memory such as DDR2-1066 or the 800 can work fine? Just a thought

I'm going to continue using my DDR2800, it OC's extremely well. It's Corsair Dominator with Micro D9 IC's and I've already had it over DDR21000 speeds with pretty tight timings.
So to answer your question, if you ram OC well, just stay with it, if not, you may need something faster.

Your ram might give you some problems if you plan on running 1:1. You're already at fairly loose timings as it is, but you can always under clock the ram a bit to get you CPU to higher FSB's. Depending on how you CPU clocks (E6750) you might want to think about getting a bit faster ram, that is if it won't OC at all.............:D
 
Just got my system up with my E6750. Running @ 3.2 GHZ atm. On a GA-P35-DS3R. Still in the process of installing drivers and havent even started tweaking yet. I'm @ 3.2 on all stock voltages with just a fsb bump to 400. Will be back likely tomorrow with more info after I finish getting setup. So far I'm loving this Core 2, she's mighty zippy ! :D
 
Just started with my E6750 this morning............:D
Currently running at 3.2 GHz at default Vcore. CoreTemp 94 and 95 are way low as expected, but MSI's utility seem to be around what I expected with a room temp of 22c.

yup I just put in my E6750 and I have the 3.2 ghz default and it's runnin at 20 to 22 C it's pretty damn good and I can't wait to push it even higher a week later:D
 
Temp readings are way off on these, seems that you need to add something like 15c to the coretemp reading to get where they should be.............:eek: But that's jusr a guess on my part.

I'm up and running Orthos at 3.6 right now, seems to be doing just fine so far. I may take it up a bit higher here in a little bit depending on how well it continues doing. I had a bit of a FSB hole at around 1650-1700, but I'm well past that now...........:D

Mine arrived about an hour ago. Same exact week/stepping as Biohazard's posted pic (#90) above. The P5K-VM mobo and eVGA 8800GTS 640 video card arrived with it. I love doing business with mWave. :D
 
Checking back in, got my E6750 yesterday. Had my mobo and ram for 2 days, they were so lonely!

So I was planning on putting my Zalman on the E6750, but sadly I threw away the box in my recent move, so I don't have the mounting hardware =\ (I was running an AMD X2 previously)

So long story short (too late), I had to install with the stock cooler -_-

Bumped the FSB up to 400 on completely stock voltage and settings. So I'm sitting at 3.2ghz. I ran orthos all night while I was asleep, no problems at all. Once I go get some new mounting hardware and/or a new cooler today I should be able to bump up to at least 3.5ghz.

Needless to say, I'm satisfied.
 
Can't seem to run ORTHOS with stable results at anything over 8 x 444MHz on my E6750 with Scythe Mine cooler. I ran 8 x 442 overnight with no problems though.



How do I know if my temps are accurate?

I am also at 3.2ghz stable

idle is about 20c and load is 55c on stock intel hsf.

Speedfan, Coretemp, and TAT seem to all come up with the same temp. But it suspiciously low. I, and I looked at other boards and don't seem to be alone, think the tjunction is being reported as 85C when it is really 100C. If true, then the temps are being reported 15 degrees too low.

So I think we need to at 15 to our temps to get the real results. I had to do this very same thing when I first got me E4300 and CoreTemp thought it was an 85C tjunction when it also was 100C.
 
not sure if anyone has posted this yet, but if they're legit, they're a bit faster than your overclocks.

Well, after days of tweaking my new E6750 and my new GA-P35-DS3R I finally got her dialed in. I was able to get up to 3.6 GHZ in Windows with her, but was far from stable. Any thing taxing on the system caused instability. So ... I backed her down to 3.520 and that seemed stable, I was able to watch TV and browse the web just fine, but anything graphics intensive like 3D mark and I was greeted with either wacked video or hard lock or reboot.

To get her to those speeds I had to crank my vcore up to 1.6 in bios giving me 1.5 in Windows, that was too high for my liking. So last night I nuked my rig and started over fresh. This morning I finally found this processors sweet spot. It's not where I hoped it would be but anything over stock speed is gravy .....:eek:

I'm fairly certain that my memory is holding me back, gonna fix that in the next week or so. Anyway this is what I will settle on for now , she's stable and fast. :D

 
3400 MHz is a great place to run a dual core processor. They don't need too much voltage to run stable here which means the temps will be quite reasonable too.

How much memory voltage are you using? A slight bump here or for your chipset might give you better stability without having to buy some more memory.

Now if you could just move CoreTemp out of the way in your screen shot so we can see the chick on your desktop. She's more important than what temperature you're processor is running at! :D
 
My Vcore for the CPU is at 1.523 in bios, actual is 1.424, serious vdroop on this board. Got my memory at 2.0 volts, it's rated from 1.8 to 2.0. :cool: I am getting ready to run a few benchmarks and then finally install some games .... :D

I think i'm satisfied. Im currently at 3680 stable. I had it at 3720 but I needed about 1.51ish volts and im trying to keep vcore under 1.5.

When I took out my E6300 and put in my E6750 I didnt' realize this but It automatically overclocked to 3.2 ghz and I didn't know that haha but overall its' running stable and I didnt' test it on Orthos or Prime 95 since it's running on stock voltage. So here is my pics!!:D

Edit: Is the voltage too high? Or is it supposed to be lower?

 
I'm curious as to what type of memory you guys are running. I could "run windows" @ 3.6 GHZ but it was far from stable.
 
i just came from a 4000 san diego, and holy crap this thing is great. only OC it to 3ghz but from what ive seen/heard so far i can go much higher.

just curious though what is an average temp for being full load at 3ghz?

im running around 51-55c and voltage is around 1.38 1.4 and this is on the stock intel cooler with the shitty paste. i couldnt wait for the AS5 so i just threw it on there, probably a mistake i know.
 
Kangg: Try bumping your memory voltage up a notch. I've had some crappy DDR2 that was rated at 1.8 volts and it performed much better at 2.15 volts. This is still a very safe voltage and if you have Micron chips on your module you can go a little higher yet.

My cheap DDR2-667 with junk chips was reliable at DDR2-850 with 2.15 volts with CL5-5-5 timings.

BAC4D00R SP1D0R : Your new E6750 should be able to run Orthos stable at 3200 MHz at default voltage which is about 1.325 volts to 1.350 volts. Your motherboard will hold back your maximum overclock.
 
Those temps seem pretty high for 3 GHZ. At 3.4 my highest temp was 47C. I am running though a Thermalright XP90 HS with a 92mm Panaflo fan on my CPU. If Core temp is right these bad boys idle between 20 to 25C. I've spent since Wednesday tweaking this setup for stability :rolleyes: Finally I'm good.

I'd still like to go higher though. My 3D Mark 05 score is 18634 and 06 Score is 10874. I'm very pleased actually with those scores. When I was still running an Athlon FX55 with this GTS my 05 Score was 14k and 06 was 8k, very nice overall improvement by switching to Core 2 Duo. :D
 
Just a little update. I got in some new memory today. 2 GB of OCZ2N1066SR2GK. it allowed me to hit 3.5 on my E6750. orthos stable for an hour so I'm very pleased ! :D

That's the same stuff I'm running with my system, runs 1150 Mhz @ 2.1 V @ stock timings, really good stuff.
