After being an AMD fan for years, I have finally decided to give C2D a shot, and purchased an E6600, along with this motherboard:

Is that a good motherboard choice for overclocking the E6600?

If you have any tips for me, who is new to Intel overclocking, or that motherboard, please post them here. I am looking to get the most I possibly can out of the cpu.

hmm
Well here is a link to the overclocking guide put out by Nvidia for those boards, that should get you started :D

http://www.nvidia.com/docs/CP/45121/nforce_680i_sli_overclocking.pdf

since you asked, a lot of people use that board and it does well, and a few have gotten away from it cussing the whole trip. I messed with one for a week and did not like it, mainly because it was complicated to understand the bios settings, I could understand them, that was not the issue, it just seemed more complicated than it needed to be. Also the board (in general) does not get much over 450MHz FSB and I needed more due to my cpu low mulitplier, you will not have that issue.

If you want SLI - thats the only board for you.

If you have super high speed memory that board allows you to run your memory at any speed independent of the cpu speed. Nice. Not restriced by certain programmed in memory mulitpliers that may not match what you want.

Disk system I/O has been reported to suck, I dont know for sure I did not put my raid on it.

I would suggest a P35 board for the main reason that most of them will (or so the manuf claim) support the new 45nm Pernyn CPUs (2nd generation Core 2 chips) due the end of the year/first of 08. I am not sure of the 680i and would check on that for sure.
