I currently have a E6300 (core2duo 2mb cache 1.83ghz)

Is it worth it to get a Q6600? Or should i wait for newer chipsets?

Depending on what you usually do no your computer, it could do nothing or it could be night and day. No one can answer that question with basically no information given with it.

Get a quad core if you need more than 2 cores.
If you dont need more than 2 cores theres not a lot of point unless you want to brag, use your PSU harder or heat your room.

yeah, i'd overclock the 6300, they're great oc'ers...that should last you quite some time, as the upgrade from an oc'd 6300 to a q6600 wouldn't be much of a difference for most applications.
