e4300 vs e6300

Whats the actual difference between the 2 chips besides the FSB?

Same cache, same achetecture (sp), whats the difference between allendale and conroe?

From my understanding the conroes are all the same, while the e6300 and e6600 have different cache, the extra cache is disabled, not removed. The allendale just physically removes it, right (and drops the FSB of course)?

Im dropping the cash tomorrow morning, and cant see any real reason to go with a 6300 over the 4300. Both will hit 3.x, which is plenty for me until I jump to a quad core peryn in october.
 
the e4300 has a mulit of 9 and the e6300 has a multi of 7, e4300 is cheaper, and e4300 does not have cpu virtualization

there are probably more things different to
 
the virtualization tech, which 98 percent of us dont need. go with the 4300 the higher mulit makes OC so so much easier.
 
It's interesting to see l2 allendales showing up for e63/64's now. Must mean that allendales do have vt tech, but is physically disabled in e43.
 
I got the e4300 because I didn't see the need to go with anything more expensive. I can oc to the speed of the e6300/e6400 and it runs slightly cooler because of the physical cache differences. Higher multi also means you can oc with a cheaper board because the fsb won't have to go as high. You can also use cheaper ram because of that fact.

Plus why spend the extra money when they'll be releasing the e6x20s in april with the 4mb caches.
 
bought the e4300. No need for virtualization, and while I did get 800Mhz ram, easier is better. I have a lan party next friday, parts should arrive tues-wednesday so Ill have to install and get OCed right quick. easier is better.

I slapped all this into an asrock vsta775 dual mobo that I have had for a while now(running a 805d, agp 6800oc, 512x2 ddr3200 in it before) and must say that I am quite happy with the results. 3dmark05 score went from a 4500 to a 9600. Got the e4300 up to 2.6 without fuss, and I am sure it'll do more with some tweaking(hoping for 3.0)

BTW, that case is really nice for the $$. I am very pleased so far.
