Please relax as the system determines how much capital can be extracted from you by the system.

Sony is running a large-scale A/B price test: the same games are shown to different users at different prices — with discounts of up to 27.8%. The experiment includes over 190 games in 70+ regions, including the US — the largest PlayStation market. The testing has been running for more than 4 months.

Some PlayStation Store users are seeing experimental prices that are significantly lower than the standard retail price. It looks like a controlled A/B test: users are placed into different groups and see different prices for the same games.

The experiment covers 70+ regions, including Europe, the US, Canada, Brazil, the Middle East, Asia, Latin America and Africa. In March 2026 the experiment expanded to the United States — PlayStation’s largest market — with the largest set of 189 games. Japan is still not participating.

Some unsubstantiated rumors that the grouping may cluster folk who do not buy many games in a year get a bigger discount than those who buy quite a few games a year.

Some have argued that Sony is only offering “dynamic discounts” with those who spend less set to receive the biggest discounts while others have warned that the model will learn what a certain user is willing to spend, and adjust their pricing accordingly – which will end up costing them more in the long run

thats a lot of guessing based on a few text characters (IPT_PILOT, IPT_OPR_TESTING, IPT_LTM)
maybe they are "experimenting" with lower prices to see if sales will go back up....
