EDIT: That was a fast crap update.
Ok heres the situation: Something in my server is killing drives or maybe its just a bad batch if i bought those together.
Well i have 2 WDEARS that were filled to the brim in Windows Home Server and were jumpered and worked perfect for a year or maybe 2.
Now when i tried to move data off of them i discovered there extremly slow speeds at about 2mb/s. I tried swapping out to a known good harddrive controller and there just as slow. Is it posssible it can be a bad write from the bad controllers if there form the same batch.
On the back of the motherboard on the controller where it connects to the headers/platers circled red in the picture.(thiss is not actual drives as there at home) are brown as if they been burned out or toomuch watts or w.e. it can be, voltage? Im going to test my power supply to see if its in the tolerance. But i have other drives in the server working fine.

Updated! actually im short on 6tb of data ;( Thats about 600 blurays right there ;(
 
serious not one bit. i rarly watch porn and its just to let off when i have no other choice. got my favorite sites for that. Ok so i found out my PSU is giving only 4.50 on the 5 volt raid which is below tolerance. can it be that?

Guys...my pulse is 0...could that be why i'm dead? If something is out of spec, replace it. Don't try and rationalize things away. /facepalm
 
thats too much work to replace psu XP. And i doubt it can be the 5 volts. atleast im hoping XP
 
Did you try WD's diagnostic disc?

This is WHS v1 correct?

What does it mean that they "were jumpered"?
 
How did you measure that voltage ?

Less than 10GB per BR, those are recoded I guess.

The electronics of the hard drive are powered by the 5V.
 
run some benchmarks. ATTO, HD tuner. post pics and let us know. you could be having a dying hdd cause i've never heard of problems with a hard drive due to power. its the hardware
 
I would swap the cables and give it a shot. Ive had bad cables produce low speeds before.
 
I do not see anything in your picture. I mean I do see that you have a red circle but there is nothing I can see in the circle that is obviously a problem.


What does CrystalDiskInfo say about the drives?
