I currently have AT&Ts FamilyTalk Nation 700 with Rollover using 3 smartphones and 3 separate data plans. I have the Samsung Skyrocket w/grandfathered unlimited data and always get throttled at 5gbs. My wife and daughter have the 2gb plans and they never use more then 500mbs. So I was thinking about switching to their 10gb shared plan giving me about 9gbs of data per month. Here is my current bill break down.

Main phone:
FamilyTalk Nation 700 with Rollover $60.00
Family Messaging Unlimited w/m2m $30.00
Data Unlimited for 4G LTE $30.00

Wife phone:
FamilyTalk Nation 700 with Rollover $9.99
DataPro 2GB for Smartphone $25.00

Daughter phone:
FamilyTalk Nation 700 with Rollover $9.99
DataPro 2GB for Smartphone $25.00

Grand total before taxes 189.98.

After taxes and my 19% discount my bill is about $185 a month. I think it's a pretty fair price but I'm getting sick and tired of being throttled month after month. So here's what the new plan would look like.

10GB Mobile Share plan $120
Shared devices $90
Total before taxes $210

So it looks like it would cost me roughly about 20 bucks extra a month after taxes and discount. Do you think it's worth it? Should I give up my unlimited data?
 
Keep your current plan. Buy a non-AT&T smartphone. Use it on their network. You get unlimited data and no throttling for $10 a month. No LTE though. So same current bill, minus $20 a month.

Probably down to the 2G network....making the phone a paperweight once throttled

OP - I went from VZW UNlimited to the new plans and ended up saving money...mainly due to an obscene amount of phones on my plan.

You have to change your habits - phones on my plan are on Wifi for a majority of the day. Only time data is used when we are actually out and about. With a 10 GB limit, I've never had the 7 phones on my plan surpass 2 gb since September.
 
I'd rather save the money and just change my usage so I used less data and/or be throttled near the end of the month.

you didn't explicitly mention medianet...you said "keep your plan"

and it's kinda a pain to hide on medianet right now... t-mobile phones are being detected, a lot of int'l unlocked smartphones don't work either... your smartphone choices will become limited(i.e. iPhone 5 from verizon will work on medianet right now, but it might be detected soon... no samsung smartphones....)

All good info (I've linked that site as well). Many Samsung phones do work, like my current SGS2. However, their more modern flagships are flagged pretty quick.
 
How's T-mobile coverage in your area? You could put your wife and daughter on the $60 unlimited/2GB plan and yourself on the $70 unlimited everything plan. So it would come out to $190 total per month, albeit with HSPA+ only as of now (though T-mobile is getting 1700/2100MHz LTE this year, and that might work on your Skyrocket).

T-mobile already has LTE in some cities. I have a AT&T Nokia Lumia 900 that just hauls butt on 4G with a T-mobile SIM. That model does NOT support HSDPA+
