Duke Nukem Forever delayed until 2038!!!

LOLZ Duke Nukem Forever is a joke, I wish that a company would pick up the rights to develop it properly and make a stellar effort. I think that if it was based on an engine like UT2004 or DOOM3, it could be quite good. Its about time that someone improved Duke's image to do it justice.

I think a lot of people are missing the point with the delay of DNF. The company had to switch to several different engines (which takes time for the programmers to learn), and recode the game with this new engine (which I believe is the same engine that is going to be used in Unreal Tournament 2004). However, I really dont care how long a game takes to be completed, as long as...
1. It has Graphics that are equal to Doom3
2. It has Gameplay equal to HL (and hopefully HL2).
3. They included Vehicals like Halo (I have read they have Hummers, Jetski's, Helicopters, etc).
4. Considering the amount of time put into the game, hopefully it will last longer than HL did to beat. I would hope for maybe 80+ hours of single player gameplay.

heh well we have been seeing a lot of this lately but nothing as long as DN Forever. all i wish for is if they said one date and stuck to it and if they did say it would come out in 2038 then at least i had a date to go by then delaying it year after year after year. *sigh* at least i have D3 and HL2 to look forward to along wiht UT2004 and BF V in the next two months.

Duke Nuken: Forever, because it will never come out so it will be literally forever.
Just look at how much free advertising for the original they have received already. After D3 is out, they will release some bulletin saying thier engine, yet again, cannot compete with ID. They will be switching to a new one and all the gamer forums will be abuzz with Duke Nukem again for a few weeks with all the rumours swirling around and the cycle will start over again.
Just release it so we can all be disapointed already.

The sad thing about DNF is that we have had already 100:s of this kind of thread in hardforum. But since it never comes out people forget it and make all new ones.
I do think 3DREALMS know how to make a great game. I mean Duke Nukem 3D quite a classic I have to say. The one that put the DOOM games out of the piedestal. And was also very good fun at multiplayer. It did compete pretty well with Quake in that area even though I regard Quake as the better multiplayer game and D3D as the better single player game.
But maybe they are a one hit wonder? But I would be quite happy if I just got more Duke Nukem 3D in glorious 3D.
Maybe they wait until they can make the strippers photo realistic??

What 3dR needs to do with DNF is simple, set a date, meet that date no matter what. Hell, if they release a half finished product with lots of bugs, at least all the fixes will come out in patches. And it'll be OUT.

Sometimes when I lose hope, I go look at the screenshots for DNF. They are pretty.
