On GeForce 8800GTS 320MB, 2709W and 2209 in Dualview I can't set 27 incher to its native resolution 1920x1200.

All I can get is 2*1680x1050 (=native resolution of 2209), which is less than 2560x1600 (=DVI max?).
BUT 1680x1050 + 1920x1200 is also less than 2560x1600! :confused:

2209:
  • has first (left) 8800GTS DVI output for intuitive mouse movement between the monitors (because it sits on the left of 2709W)
  • in vertical position -> 1050x1680 resolution
  • OK

2709:
  • other DVI output
  • normal (horizontal) position
  • PROBLEM (max. resolution at 1680x1050; with 2209 disabled I can set 1920x1200)

I'm probably missing some hardware DVI cable limitation... :)

Help much appreciated!

ADD: I've played in Nvidia Control Panel with Add resolutions.... My custom resolution of 1920x1200 came out really bad, but after canceling ... 1920x1200 (native) appeared on the list of available resolutions!?

Now, no matter which is Primary monitor I always have to go "around" with mouse to get to the other display (on the left 2209 I have to go to left to get to the right display). :mad:

Also found resourceful thread on nvidia forums for anyone in the future: DVI Resolution Limit? ;)

Yeah, I've run into this problem too with nVidia drivers in XP. Can't remember if this was an issue with Windows 7 though.

You need to create a custom resolution in nVidia control panel after selecting the 2709W for 1920x1200. Here's the info I used:

Active = 1920
Front Porch = 48
Sync Width = 32
Back Porch = 80
total = 2080

Vertical Geometry

Active = 1200
Front Porch = 3
Sync Width = 6
Back Porch = 26
total = 1235

Hi 10e! The resolution is fine (said so just after ADD).

Now, I've also found out that in Desktop properties you can drag'n'drop the displays. In effect, I've solved this thread.:D
