I'm building a little file server, nothing fancy - standard case, mobo, etc. What I was wondering is could I get a dual/redundant power supply for this? The motherboard only has one power connection.

You can get a power supply that is the same size as a normal atx one that has dual units in it but it is expensive and really a waste of cash. Just get a good normal power supply. If you really need uptime then you want to go with better stuff then just your normal computer parts anyway.

Unless its critical it be up every minute and it does not sound like it must, just have a spare PS on the shelf. As per above, yes they make em, newegg has some you can look at under "power supplies server " but expensive. If you gotta have one you gotta have one kinda thing. But I bet you could swap out a PS in 15 minutes if you had to.
