drivers ati problem install pls help

ok i have two 6 pins in now. shouldn't it be pcie as pprimary hossdaddy?

omg now when i power on not even dvi is recognized to mobo to hdmi on monitor, i cant tell if this is a good thing,, maybe i should revert to vga-vga

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh it worked in the Gpu thedvi :D

and it is showingin device manager radeon,,, time to put three monitors together.... :p

Nice! Glad it solved your problem, but both of my PCI Express power connectors are plugged in :( Do you guys think my PSU is bad?
 
i cant comment,,i would love to but i think i've just been shamed as having absolutely no common practical sense. keep trying.
 
honorious look for some lights on your video card, i know ATI has been pretty goood about putting lights on there to indicate power on etc..

Typically the cards used to work without the external power connectors but they just were bare minimum and would give a "popup" error message in windows after bootup.

I would double check your PCIe power connectors and even unseat and reseat the video card. (make sure its pushed down all the way)..
 
I've already reseated it probably 10+ times =/

Once I forgot to put in the PCIe power connectors... fan turned on full blast and a red LED lit up on the video card's board, but normally (when I have the power connectors connected) the fan spins and no lgihts come on.
 
so for the record there was absolutely zero problems with your drivers right?
 
Neither of our problems were drivers. His was his PCIe connector, and mine is... well... no a driver issue (i'm fairly certain)

Tried updating my bios to 1.50 (the latest) but no luck. Any other ideas?

I'm leaning towards PSU at this point, because fudge's rig was acting similar to mine before he fixed it by giving it more power. Its also the cheapest to replace :D
 
Thanks for the recommendations! I decided to just return the mobo... not worth all the time i'm wasting.

Going to go for this power supply:
Cooler Master GX 750W

and this mobo:
MSI Z68 GD65

Guess i'll be able to do crossfire with this config too, if I need the extra graphics power. Think I should be good?

HUH? you just said you thought it was the psu then you decide to return the mobo? Why? Rule #1 when trouble shooting is only change one thing at a time. And I think most of us would agree that swapping out a psu is far simpler than a mobo.
