Twitch banning someone and refunding people says nothing other then hes gone from twitch for good.
 
Maybe on his return to streaming Doc can feed us more bullshit about David Icke and 5G causing coronavirus.
 
Honestly I hope people finally stop streaming to twitch because of this. How can people keep coming back to a platform that just cancels their biggest creator without reason from one day to the next ? Clearly, Twitch just wanted to remind everyone that they're bigger than the doc. Just like twitter needs to remind everyone theyre bigger than the president of the USA. Take note people

YouTube isn’t much better and Google is just another gigantic faceless data mining corporation. What’s badly needed is a platform made by gamers/streamers with a viable business model that doesn’t need large corporations to survive. Until then, it’s just bouncing from one shitty provider to another.

We can’t even count on China or some Asian country creating an alternative because those places have worse censorship than the US does. Essentially there is no freedom anywhere in the world, you’re always under someone’s thumb and their ideals.

Twitch is such a rip off. They take to big of a cut from subs and bit things. I am sorry I don't want to pay a $5 sub when twitch gets half of it. Sure they provide the platform and stuff 50% is rough.

The rate that streamers get changes as they get more popular with majority going to the streamer. They also get more from twitch prime subs then regular subs.

For example with my favorite streamer has 9,378 subscribers. Thats not taking into account if they are prime or what tier the sub is and if you take it as if they are all just $5 regular subs and 50% of that is $23,445 a month. Doc was consistently top 5 on twitch and i guarantee he had negotiated his rate to be alot more then 50% for a long time.

You think they should be able to make a living off 100 subscribers? Its designed to push them to do better and get better. The more subs you get the more money the streamer makes and the more money AMZN makes. Once you get Twitch Partner your contracts can be negotiated.

I guess im not really seeing how they are getting screwed.
 
yt is gonna work out alright for him. ive had the stream on for not even 5min and have seen over $1k in superchat.

I really don't understand the twitch/yt/whatever streaming service mentality sometimes. Some of the zombies that follow this guy and other big streamers get some kind of dopamine high from tossing high dollar donations at them thinking they belong to some exclusive "club". I remember some guy donating to Shroud and his donation message was something along the lines of, "this is the last $5 in my account and I'm eating ramen tonight but I think you deserve it". Fucking ridiculous, bordering on mental illness.

I know a couple huge E-sports personalities personally myself. These guys make SERIOUS money. One of my buddies knows Shroud personally and over dinner a few weeks back, he mentioned to me that in the middle of dinner shroud said "hey bro, what the fuck should i do with this, i dont know what to do"

Yep, the funny thing is the kids (and adults) who donate to these multimillionaries know they're already loaded but like I said, they get this dopamine high of "belonging". I'm betting a lot of them are some weird introverts and/or incels that need somewhere to belong and they find that outlet via donations to a streamer. Good for the streamers though, if they can hussle and get that cash, more power to them--I'd do it too if I could.

Its quite sad how many people throw streamers money just for attention because ultimately thats what its all about for most. I just sub to a few people on twitch who make good content. I dont participate in chats or try to talk to streamers because twitch chat is overall pretty toxic.

If he was 17 years old, I'd boot that mofo out of the house as soon as he turned 18. These are the kinds of losers guys like Dr. Disrespect and other big streamers cater towards and depend on to fund their lifestyles, it's very predatory.

Calling it predatory is pretty far fetched. The streamers never asked for stupid stuff like that. The mentally ill are going to do stupid stuff regardless, and donations actually make up a very small percentage of big Twitch streamer's income.

Of course they're not going to blatantly ask for it. They instead create their stream around encouragement of it and they know that's exactly how they're getting paid. Also, not every huge streamer is making bank off of sponsorships, only a handful of guys like Dr. Disrespect do but he still makes an assload of money from subs.

Smaller streamers i can see donating to, but not to top ones that have sponsors and 7 figure deals with the platform.

How much does a streamer have to make where you stop donating ? Or is it as soon as they get sponsored?
