Downgrade a Dell SFF system?

I have a spare Dell Optiplex 780 SFF PC that I would like to run Untangle on.

It has the following:
Core 2 Duo E8400 3GHz
4GB RAM
160GB HD
255W 88% PSU

Should I downgrade some components to cut more power? Does something like this use that much power to begin with? Thanks.

Not really: That setup doesn't use that much power to begin with. While yes the E8400 is complete overkill in terms of performance considering that P4 setups perform just fine with Untangle, in terms of power usage it's a pretty good choice as is.
 
I'm running Untangle box on dual xeon 771 5160 setup, so like double your cpu :) Of course its for a business. I have gotten it to hit 20 to 40% cpu, but it is also setup to scan a ton of inbound emails.
 
It shouldn't use much power if you leave speedstep enabled, it will just sit at a lower clock until more power is needed.
