Last night I experimented with down-sampling for the first time on my setup. I ended up going with 3200x1800 down-sampled to 2560x1440. It helped with the aliasing, but I'm not sure if it was just me, but the picture felt uncomfortable to look at. I tried it in Crysis 3 and Planetside 2, and 2560x1440 felt very "relaxing" to look at compared to 3200x1800 down-sampled.
My monitor OSD confirmed it was only displaying the regular 2560x1440 at 60Hz, so I don't believe it was the monitor. Maybe 3200x1800 (1.25x larger than 1440p) is just an awkward size to be scaling down to 1440p?
