Long story short, STUPIDLY I used the included program and instead of flashing with a floppy, usb key, or a cd, I flashed through windows.

Erased the bios, flashed it, couldn't verify it. The computer reset, and everything started whirling up and off it went. Powered back on and did the whirling thing with the fans and hard drives, and off it went again. It doesn't do much but this now.

What are my options here.... besides RMA... because I think user stupidity isn't covered by warranty is it?

My rigs specs are in my sig... WHY OH WHY I JUST GOT EVERYTHING TO WORK BEAUTIFULLY!!!

I can tell you now from having experienced this twice. You'll need to buy a replacement BIOS chip from ASUS or send them yours for a reflash.

I just finished going back to the store, they're sending it back to the distributor to reflash the bios. 3 weeks without a computer.. =( that can play games...

The BIOS hasn't been soldered down to the board on the P5N32-E SLI Plus, P5N32-E SLI Deluxe, or the Striker Extreme. However the Maximus Formula and Maximus Extreme both have the BIOS chip soldered to the board.

and asus strikes another blow for the consumer. no longer can we hot flash a bios, or buy a replacement bios chip. all we have to do is ship our mb back to asus and wait for their industry-leading turnaround.
