I just wanted to say that I am glad the hype of Doom3 is over! It is just one game that took me 3 days to beat...The graphics are great but thats it, it's over with. The game will probably just sit on my C:drive and I wont play it anymore. I didnt care one bit that my X800pro, which I recently modded to XT PE, didnt play the game as well as the Nvidia cards. I prefer games which last and have a great single and Multiplayer capabilities, such as Call of Duty and Unreal Tournament. Great online action! I for one will stay with ATI products.

It's a single player game, not like unreal or call of duty. They put multiplayer functionality in there just so they had it. Unless you plan on playing it through a couple of times, you'll probably feel gypped. Unbind F5 and play nightmare mode. Just extended your playing time a couple years.

You guys always fighting over which brand is better, nvidia, this week, ati last week. The fact is the products are always changing, Both companies are good at what they do. Everyone who says Nvidia is the best should remember that they were struggling to stay a float last year with the 5800 ultra (big disater for them) no matter what they did (5900 ultra) they couldnt beat ati, ati had them by there balls. And now its nvidia who has ati by the balls. Ati will Struggle to overcome this just like nvidia did. And next year who knows who will have the best card. But the best thing about all this is, the cards just get better and better. And thats great for us. So fight on nvidia and ati, fight on
Sounds like someone L O V E S his video card. He wasn't downplaying the game because he can't brag about his card being the best, he was downplaying the game, well, because it was short lived. I said way before Doom3 came out that it wasnt going to be anything spectacular. Its more an engine tech demo than a game. Carmack pumped the game so full of eye candy then forgot games need interesting stories and need to draw the players in, not send you around on wild goose chases for keycards or PDAs or whatever he decides to use to open doors. The game that really revolutionized the stylings of FPS was Half-Life and that is why HL2 is so anticipated...

you cant deny the facts and benchmarks though. the 6800GT beats out the X800pro fair and square. and just because he is backing a product doesnt make him a fan boy. ill back my 6800GT and my 9800pro because both cards are great cards. the 9800pro was an awesome card in its days and the same goes for the 6800GT. every dog has its day(s).
