Doom 3: 9500 Pro Video Problem

Problem: Screen goes blank

At first when the screen went blank I thought it was apart of the game then I sat there for about 2 minutes and figured it wasn't. So, being unable to exit doom because I couldn't see, or alt-tab or restart via windows I just reset it manually...I restart and play a while the nthe screen goes blank again....Not sure what it is....If anyone else has the problem...please respond...Oh, yeah I'm running on AMD athlon 2100, Viewsonic G90fb, 9500 pro(cat. 4.7)... I'm about to revert to 4.6 to see if it was a driver problem.

i had the same problem useing omgea drivers, but then i went back to cat 4.7's and it ran awsome...i hope you figure it out man, maybe trying rolling back to a differnet version of the cats?

The game has been overworking some cards, causing artifacts and such despite them being bone stock. How is your case/gpu cooling?

What part of the game dose it go blank at? right at startup or when you start the gameplay?
I have a 9500 pro too, but im gettin the game tommrow, i hope i dont have this problem too!

omega 4.7's are working in the game, you should look elsewhere for the source of the problem.

I wouldn't worry too much, my 9500pro is soft modded and overclocked and I haven't had any problems so far. I was kinda worried due to all the pre-release talk about the game not working on overclocked cards.

So you think those problems might just be isolated? My 9500 is stock speed. So i hope it will run just fine. and i hope anyone that has problems gets them fixed.

My roommate had the artifacting problem I had mentioned, he solved it by clocking his cards 20mhz slower. His problem was white snow over everything though and mainly seems to be for 9800pro/XTs Not sure what would cause a 9500pro going blank though, I was just throwing out a suggestion.

The only other thing I can think of is maybe make sure the card is on a separate power line?

The Cat 4.8 betas work really well. The game runs better than on the Cat 4.7s.

Well I just got the game, and my doom 3 runs just fine on my 9500 pro, so i guess its most likely an isolated problem for some users,
