I have, among other rigs, 2X E6600's sitting side by side. One E6600 is in a Antec 900 case (2X 120mm fans in front, 1X 120mm fan in back and a big ole' fan on top, I think it's a 220mm?) it has a Zalman 9700 HSF cooler. The other E6600 is in a "no name" case with an Apoogee WB, a MCR220 rad (fans shrouded and in a push/pull configuration) and a MCP350 WP. (I used the shortest and most direct plumbing, I've only got 3/8th" tubing) Both machines are OC'ed to 3 GHZ (333 FSB) with stock vcore (1.325v) and they both fold 24/7 using the WinSMP client. (the cpu is the only thing in the WC'ing loop, the chipset (NB) has a fan) My ambient temps, read by an indoor/outdoor thermometer, are about 21c The question I have is : the air cooled E6600 runs consistantly about 3c or 4c hotter than the WC'er. Is this the way it's suppose to be? Do I need to reseat my WB? (I use Artic Silver 5 TIM, the best in my book) Is the WC'er suppose to run cooler? (I know my WC'ing expertice leaves much to be desired) If these are "dumb" questions try to remember, while I'm not new to computers, I am new to the concept of water cooling. I think I'm a convert. I like the "bling" of WC'ing in a lighted window case, besides I heard it was "fool proof" way to attract the opposite sex. My temps ATM are WC'er a steady 32c and the air cooler rocking between 35c and 36c. (I know SW temp programs are not that accurate, I just use them for reference, I use Core Temp and SpeedFan)
