Does this sound right?

I have, among other rigs, 2X E6600's sitting side by side. One E6600 is in a Antec 900 case (2X 120mm fans in front, 1X 120mm fan in back and a big ole' fan on top, I think it's a 220mm?) it has a Zalman 9700 HSF cooler. The other E6600 is in a "no name" case with an Apoogee WB, a MCR220 rad (fans shrouded and in a push/pull configuration) and a MCP350 WP. (I used the shortest and most direct plumbing, I've only got 3/8th" tubing) Both machines are OC'ed to 3 GHZ (333 FSB) with stock vcore (1.325v) and they both fold 24/7 using the WinSMP client. (the cpu is the only thing in the WC'ing loop, the chipset (NB) has a fan) My ambient temps, read by an indoor/outdoor thermometer, are about 21c The question I have is : the air cooled E6600 runs consistantly about 3c or 4c hotter than the WC'er. Is this the way it's suppose to be? Do I need to reseat my WB? (I use Artic Silver 5 TIM, the best in my book) Is the WC'er suppose to run cooler? (I know my WC'ing expertice leaves much to be desired) If these are "dumb" questions try to remember, while I'm not new to computers, I am new to the concept of water cooling. I think I'm a convert. I like the "bling" of WC'ing in a lighted window case, besides I heard it was "fool proof" way to attract the opposite sex. My temps ATM are WC'er a steady 32c and the air cooler rocking between 35c and 36c. (I know SW temp programs are not that accurate, I just use them for reference, I use Core Temp and SpeedFan)

Paragraphs are your friend. :)

Not to be a wise a$$, but if I needed answers to English grammar I'd ask questions in a "English grammar" forum.
What I needed and still need is a mature, knowlegeable answer to my question about where my WC'ing temperatures were in comparision to my air cooled temperatures. If I goofed up on the paragraph thing I appologize. I'm more concerned with my computer than English grammar. I only made it through HS about 35 years ago and I still don't know what you mean.

Not to be a wiseass but I have to agree with TN... I start reading your post and my eyes start swimming.

But, your results sound about right. If you had both systems in the same cases (the 900) then you might see better temps on the WC rig depending upon a few factors like rad mounting and total airflow through the case. If you had both rigs in the generic case you might see far worse temps in the air cooled rig due to lower air flow through the case.

It all depends upon the whole system as a complete unit rather than basing it on some of the parts.

Sorry about my post being so hard to read and understand. Being afraid to put H20 (water) with the active electrons (electricity) I've opted to use an old case to house everything but the WB and some tubing (I found it easier to leak check for 24 hrs), which are installed on the cpu via grometted side holes. I was wondering if maybe my WB needed reseating or my rad fans needed replacing (they are Yate Loon D12SM-12 fans) I have the WC'ing case sitting by the window with the Antec 900 case (the rad is getting fresh cool air) so I didn't see where air flowing through the "no name" case made any difference. I have active fans on my NB, SB and video card. I hope this is clearer, what kind of parts am I not mentioning? WC' loop is a Apoogee GT water block, MCRE micro res, a MCP 350 water pump (soon to have Petra's top, at present stock) a MCR 220 radiator with 4X 120 mm Yate Loon fans (D12SM-12) in a "suck" push/pull configuration, 3/8th" tubing plumbed as short and direct as possible and if I'm leaving anything out please tell me.

Edit: I like the pun about "eyes swimming" and water cooling :p

Edit update: Welp, my temp spread is now almost 7c air hotter than water, now even with screwed up inaccurate software temps I like almost 7c much better. Maybe the AS5 TIM hadn't set or cured or whatever. (shrug) I do love this WC'ing, come on July 22nd. (consistent with either a 21c or 22c ambient temp)

Well, I had no idea where your rad was so that's a tough call. Still, a very good air cooler in a well ventilated case will cool close to the abilities of a water setup so it's still to be expected.
