I have been using iTunes for a long time now, and I have downloaded 123 albums from them with no problems at all. I do wish the music was in a higher resolution format though. All the music that I personally import, I import at 256MP3. I can't tell the difference between 256MP3 and the regular CD...but I don't have high end equipment either.

I like how iTunes does it all within one program. I can manage my music and go to the iTunes store all from the same program. This is coming from a long time windows user who has never owned a MAC...but I'm thinking about buying a mini just to have something to mess with.

I use iTunes, since i discovered it about version 4 i have always used it, beats most other Music players and the download service is quick and simple, now with Cover Flow its great.

I'm a pretty big proponent of iTunes. Been living on it since version 2.

I have not been impressed with version 7 though. Seems very buggy.

This fall we plan on canceling the dish and using iTunes to download and watch the few TV shows we watch. We figured if we downloaded 4 shows a week (which would be a LOT for us) we would still save 20 bucks a month over what we spend for a zillion channels we never watch.

iTunes has worked for me ever since I picked it up in 2003 with my first iPod, and I've never had problems with it, on my PC or on my Mac.

I buy most of my music on iTunes and I encode my movies and TV Shows to iTunes format just so I can use it to organize them. It's my central media hub.

Now if I had an Apple TV it would be perfect, first I need a new LCD though, one that would support it.

I love iTunes, it does exactly what I want a music library app to do, and it's clean and elegant looking, in my opinion.

Back in my PC days I started with Windows MediaPlayer and it was fine and all. But when iTunes 4 came out I wasn't super impressed it couldn't do much for me. Then when I bought a Mac, and started to use iTunes full time, I was impressed with the quality and the organization that came with iTunes. Now that it can play video and with its playlists it GREAT!!!! Would never use anything else now.

I love it for it's good shuffle capabilities and awesome search function. Nothing else I have comes close to that.

Music sharing across the LAN is also amazing... means I can keep all my 200gb or so of music on a seperate computer.

I started with WinPlay then eventually migrated to WinAmp, but begrudjingly. I used iTunes when I would use my TiBook, and the minute it came out for Windows I was all over it. Haven't looked back since.

I'm a big fan of iTunes. Its easy to keep everything organized and change song information (like CD Info if your net is down/its unknown).

No problems with it crashing or anything.

I hated itunes, then 5 and 6 came out and I moved to it from WMP and loved it. Then 7 came out and I love the new look but....it has been nothing but laggy, slowness, skips, and issues. I finally got it to stop skipping by moving to Vista, but still it is slow at times.

I am now starting to move over to WMP11/Zune as I am going to give the Zune a try. I have never gotten into other players like WinAMP though (I feel it is not as good and easy to use for large amounts of music), it has always been either iTunes or WMP for me :)

Itunes runs much better OS-10. I feel it to is very sluggish on windows. But over all between the store, streaming radio, and pod casts, apple has done a good job.

If you have a ridiculous number of music, itunes slows down ridiculously to the point of unusability. the same thing with musikcube.

I like Amarok, personally.

iTunes does what it does best and I love it to pieces for that. Apple is building it to be the be all, end all application now with downloadable movies. Unfortunately it does not shine so brightly here. iT needs to support encoding in higher resolution of audio and video, not just for the convenience of iPods. Full 1080 playback and conversion. I think QTP does that but it would be tedious to go from one to another even with the tight integration of iLife.

iTunes is a great music manager. I've been using it ever since I went 100% Mac and haven't looked back. It's definitly better than WMP, and Winamp, but Amarok comes close.

I hate iTunes. Mediamonkey is by far the best windows based media player.
It's GREAT for large libraries, it's great with MP3 Player(very easy, no set up, just works!!), it allows for quick, easy, and batch changing of file names to effeicently set up your library. I would reccomend it over all other media players.

iTunes on the Mac = gold.

iTunes on the PC = why does it feel like molasses when I resize the window or search for music?

I don't like it because it feels slow and I'm not satisfied with the way it handles video. I'd much rather use WMP to manage my music with my iPod if I could.

I love iTunes. Ever since it was released for Windows and at the same time I got my 3rd gen iPod back in early 2004, I've always been with iTunes. Albeit a bit slow at times, it offers nearly all that I need to manage my library in a single window an is very intuitive. Editing ID3 tags for multiple songs was never easier.

I like itunes because it loads 10x faster than windows media player. I choose it over anything else.

I use it to play CDs when I'm recording them optically onto MD, simply because it works & there's no need to install anything else. If I was using it in place of Amarok on my media machine I would miss the right-click > queue track feature & the stop after feature.

I gave up MD in the 10th grade. It's great for recording things, but otherwise MD is a pretty useless proprietary format...

I haven't really liked it the least bit at all since 7. I'm seriously getting tired of the program crashing on me. It crashes if I pause and start a few times in a row. Such as; Playing a song, pause for phone call, hit play, itunes crashes. Happens almost every time.

if we all knew how old you are, this statement would make sense to us. (yes i know it says your age in your profile)

md was cool, but unnecessary now.

Freshmen in college, so 3 years ago.

I've used itunes since it first came out I think. Never had any real issues with it (well besides DRM, but that's another deal..)

I've never had a problem with iTunes crashing on my box at all. I guess if it did, then I'd use something else.

I personally like iTunes over WMP (now with URGE!!! ugh). On a Mac, its smooth as silk. On a PC, it can chug if coverflow is enabled. But for the most part, it does everything that I want it to do in one package.

BTW Lyquist, Nice Mackie in your sig. I currently use a Mackie 1202-VLZ Pro Mixer with a pair of KRK Rokit RP-6's. Nice setup.

It's the best format for me, because it's smaller than CD, yet doesn't sound as bas as MP3, & my decent MD unit has a line output so I can plug it into my headphone amp & drop both in my pocket. At some point I'll upgrade to a unit that can record full PCM to 1GB Net MD disks, but I'm content at the moment.
