But seriously, what's the point of watercooling a HD? I don't think lowering the temps on it with water rather than a simple, slow 120mm fan will increase the HD's life that much more...
The HD is bound to fail (i think) as a result of other reasons first, before it fails because it consistantly ran 31C with a fan as opposed to 25C (just an example) with WCing...

It's a great idea, but unfortunately I think you'd be better served by placing a 99.9% silent 120mm fan blowing slowly on the HDDs. IMHO in order to properly cool a hard drive you would need to slather those things in some sort of TIM to properly interface with the block....I don't think anybody really wants to do that.Volkum said:Wouldn't the point be to eliminate fans though? And the Koolance coolers keep your drives at what temp?Top Nurse said:That is the reason I don't use those coolers because you need one of these thermal pads for it to work well. I prefer the Koolance HD coolers because you don't need the extra expense of a thermal pad.
