When I use easy tune for my mother board and there are no programs running it will say my clockspeed is at around 1800mhz, but as soon as I start up prime 95 and do the test it goes on up to 2.7ghz. If it is throttling down like it seems like it is doing then is there a way to turn it off so it's always running full speed?
 
Check your power management settings, if its set to minimal power management, change it to Always On. Plus check in your bios, there should be a speedstep option that you can turn off.

this should turn off ALL throttleing stuff and run the cpu fan on high all the time. You may want to play with some of it and leave it on, this is a max OCer setup. Check the manual.
 
Figures it was actually Mobo related :) Thanks for the help, loving this thing so far, up to 2.9ghz and all I've done is raise the fsb and put the voltage @ 1.35. Probably would be fine at lower voltage but I want to keep stable.
 
BAH !!! BAH !!!! I say it again BAH!!!

If you have a replacement heatsink, not the intel stock one then:

FSB to 400
memory 2:1
PCI buss 102
manually put your in memory timings to spec (cant tell if you got the 555 or the 444 stuff)
vcore 1.375
vdimm 2.0
and reboot and get 3.2

If you dont , shame shame shame on you, but do watch your temps.

Hell even if stock, do the above see if it will load windows and run coretemp or whatever to get an idle temp, dont load it down with anything , quick, shutdown, change it back just to say you did it. then go by a scythe or tuniq and get those games a poppin. It will be stable with a good HS, at 3.2 you not really even pushing it.

I am serious, you got the hardware (heatsink possibly excepted) and its so easy a caveman can do it.
