I have recently ordered HP Envy TouchSmart 15 with following config
1) 4th Generation Core i7 Quad Core 4700MQ
2) 8GB RAM
3) 1TB 5400 HDD
4) NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M
5) 1920 X 1080 display with FHD BrightView LED Backlit Display with Multi-touch
Now I will use this laptop for multi-purpose function. Like ...
1) Entertainment
2) Seldom Light gaming (I know 740 is nothing for 1080P display)
4) Development since I will develop WP8 applications and
Most important, I will use Virtual PC in which I will have Windows 2008 server with
1) Visual Studio 2010 for ASP.NET development
2) SharePoint 2010. Offoucrse I will use it for learning purpose not for commercial hoasting
3) SQL Server 2008
Now my friends told me that this doesn't have an SSD, therefore I won't be able to use the full potential of this power 4th generation Haswell. So do I really need an SSD for these purpose? I know that if i replace the original HDD or RAM, it will void the warranty. But in case anything happens to the laptop and I have to take it to the service centre, I can always replace the original component before taking it to service centre.
What is your suggestion?
