So I do have a 290x sitting here and I'm about to order one of those 39" 4k seiki so what would be some games to play around with that'll just make my keyboard keys stick?
Do you mean games that will play at 4K or do you mean games with 4K textures.
Yes and No if that's the case.

Get a 1440p 120hz monitor instead.
BF4 is a very pretty game even though IMHO many of the graphics are fantasy Hollywood bs instead of the real they should be representing especially that god awful nuclear sunshine in game and all trailers/still shots and the snow that thinks it is a floodlight.
I though skyrim opened that up where it can use more then 3.1Gb memory via a flag in the ini file which they(Bethesda) made official support via one of the patches. I remember using game in stock settings and it ran well enough, added some mods started having performance hiccups, added mod to make sure it stayed above x fps so less dips and such and also allowed over x fps, then they added the patch for over 2gb(at time if I recall that was limit) I have 8 gb installed and it made it MUCH smoother for me at least.
anyways.
4K (or, rather, HiDPI) goes a long way toward eliminating the quantization problems we've been trying to cover up for years. It's substantially more useful for gaming than it is for film and television.4k currently is truly meant for movies and such more then it is gaming.

Or you could just use DisplayPort (1.2 or higher) which supports it right now. DisplayPort > HDMI. Any video card made in the last few years can run 4k right now via DP (at least on the desktop anyway).I'm waiting for GPUs with HDMI 2.0 outputs on them before acquiring a 4K display. I reckon Maxwell will be the first GPUs to have HDMI 2.0.
And of course there is not a single 4K TV channel.
It wasn't. 4K PC displays predate 4K televisions by about a decade.why is it 4k was brought out for TV first
Can you link me to a 1440P 120 Hz monitor?Get a 1440p 120hz monitor instead.
Dude wait... Seiki announced HDMI 2.0 TVs in the next month or two. It will support 60hz @ 4K res. I am waiting on one.
I've played the following games at 4K on my single geforce 670 card, on a Sandy Bridge i7-2600K:
- Mass Effect (with HD texture pack)
- Mass Effect 2 (with HD texture pack)
- DiRT3 (60 fps average)
- Left 4 Dead 2 (60 fps average)
- Bulletstorm (a little slow at about 30 fps though)
- ENSLAVED (60 fps average)
- Path of Exile (60 fps average)
- Halo - Spartan Assault
- Mirror's Edge
I haven't even touched Dolphin and other emulators yet...
