Hey Guys This is my first post on the site, but ive been reading it for a while. Ive been thinking about building a network rack for my home ( i mean it is every geeks dream right :)) But i wanted it to be mobile and since i did not have and rack mountable servers i decided to make a cart. I used all 3/4 inch plywood. Let me know what you think. This is version 1 I plan on making another one and paint it, and put a door on it. But for right now this is it.

Windows 2000 advanced server, pretty much just a file/print server i also have win2003 server, ubuntu server, and cent os server running.

Windows 2000 advanced server, thats a rather expensive bit of software!

I wouldn't use wood screws on anything heavier than what i have now. I built what i have now for alot cheaper than buying a rack. Eventually i am going to upgrade and get one, but until then this work great. and i had a copy of win2000 server laying around figure why not use it.

OMFG!!

Thats awsome. What'd it cost you in materials? I need to make something like that. Sadly, it needs to be a tad smaller in case I need to transport it so It'll need to fit in the back of my Blazer.

For all practical purposes you can work with these three CATx types in the same manner. When there is a difference I'll point that out. The two important 'rules' to remember are:

Do Not remove any more of the cables jacket than you absolutely have to.
The un-twisted part of the wires CANNOT exceed 1/2".

These rules are intended to limit how much you can untwist the twisted pairs. So lets move on.
