disk imaging software?

i'm needing to back up my operating system and some programs since last time i forgot i ended up having to repurchase and download it on a single computer license. Is there a software i can use that allows me backup the image and able to restore it bypassing my to repurchase programs?

There is lots of free software for this. Clonezilla, Drive Image XML, linux dd.

Has worked for me for some stuff, but did not work when trying to clone my Win7 partition to a bigger drive, went with Clonezilla for that.

That's exactly what I used it for and it worked.

Weird. I just couldn't boot after the clone was done.

I like DriveImage XML myself (freeware), tho on my personal system I use Norton Ghost 14.0 because I like the scheduling and image management features.
