ThinkComputers has posted a couple pages of pictures of the most disgusting things found inside computers. I snagged this picture to give you an idea what to expect.

Some people do not realize that you need to regularly clean out your PC. Many people just buy a computer and never open it up to clean it. After a couple of years the inside of a computer can look rather disgusting and things can begin living inside your computer!

should be digusting things found in keyboards. i work in IT and you dont even want to know the shit ive seen inside peoples keyboard and laptops. makes me want to gag

ugh.. man... Don't remind me.
I was brought over an old Dell PC about 2 weeks ago, we're talking Pentium 4 socket 478 era.
That thing was a hazard, full of monster dust bunnies of doom that got sogged up with dog urine.

Owner was not happy when I told him that I was not going to touch that computer.
I can understand some people can be lazy or not know enough and let their computers fill up with dust, in those cases I just charge a little extra. But urine? HEEELLLL NOOOOO!

I hope he decides to take it to the geek squad :D
I might still have a picture of it that I used to show the owner.

I've seen many machines like those..Among the reasons I will Never work on a consumer level PC again.

Some of those are tame. Some are pretty bad. I've found a black widow in a case, dust that came out in sheets (like a big load of dryer lint), and some of that gross, sticky, smoker dust. What's bad is when people have their computers on the floor, and there is dog pee inside. That stuff starts corroding the metal and stinks...

Oh man. . . .I just had to go and look . . . . .I would not touch any of those machines with my bare hands-- get me some of those gloves mechanics use to work on cars . . . .

The frog was just mindboggling. The one I found funny was the spider with dead insects, yet still disgusting.

I used to be a tech and man... latex gloves and those dust masks became common place to see me wearing as I crack open a computer...

Forget gloves, you a rebreather, and perhaps a biosuit with duck taped sleaves to be sure.

Yuck! The bugs...spiders and crickets are some of the most disgusting looking things ever and inside a hideously dirty PC too!

At least... you HOPE it was DOG urine... :D

I have three dogs, and the pic of the blue radiator on the front page is what my radiators look like when I clean them 2-3 times a year.

The radiator was the worst IMO, because to me that says someone who customizes a computer not a person who bought one from Dell or a store, and for them not to regularly clean it out is just sad. Hell I learned my lesson way back when I had a P2 chip, had a heatsink that was essentially the same as one on there just no space between the fins... cleaned it out and holy crap the computer didn't "crash" all the time for some strange reason!

Bah, unless they find some bones belonging to Jimmy Hoffa I won't be impressed. :D

I don't know what was more visually upsetting...
The dead frog or the motherboard with ISA slots?!

I see computers like this on a daily basis. Most consumers don't realize air = dust. So, air = dust, then fan+air=dust magnet and needs to be cleaned out once and a blue moon.

It's sad, and it's disgusting.

My radiator actually was that bad the other day, and I ran it for 6 months. I regret nothing.

Those aren't that bad. I've seen much worse.

The thing I hate the most is the smell when you turn a PC on. You get the stench of their home in your office, swell!

I would trash bag every single one of these, call their owner and tell em to come pick em up. Nope. Take it somewhere else. "Yeah, I found the problem. It's owner is a moron."

Jeez guys, it wasn't even that bad. Only two of the pics had any sort of animal/insect in them, and the rest were just really bad dust.
