Direct X 10

Any idea what codec is needed to view it, all I get is sound and a blank screen with WMP10.

Found the codec....GSpot is cool.

I love destructive env, something FC and AArmy really need. You should be able to shoot out lights, and otherwise change the enviroment to your advantage. In real life you would move things arouind to set up better cover for a trap, etc.

Imagine hacking off some branches and making yourself a sniper blind!!!

I think they should make flashable video cards, u can then flash dx9-10 ect on that card

It doesn't work that way, I'm afraid.
You can't flash your Pentium 1 to a Pentium 4 either, can you?
Everything that can be replaced/updated, is handled by the videocard driver.

That just made me re think my update and plans till it actually comes out and at THAT point build a new rig, this one should do ok till then, whats that early 2007 ?

 OpenGL is not "bye-bye", for every decent game there are dozens of other 3d works that are all programmed in OpenGL, used for simulations and research, etc. Until MS releases directX for ALL platforms, OpenGL is going to be around.

What about it? OpenGL went bye-bye once DX9 was released and DX8 & 9 -based games were coming out.

DX10 just pushed OpenGL even further out the door.

I think it's for the best. Now they can focus on just DirectX.

Seems like with Nvidia's 7800 series, they've been doing well in DX based games.

I'm sure enough to say that the whole "Nvidia = OpenGL / ATI = DirectX" is pretty much over with.
