Digital Whiteboard suggestion

So.. one of the hospitals in my division is really wanting to get a "digital whiteboard" setup in all their patient rooms. Basically, they want to replace the standard whiteboards that the nurses write their names on and other information with a digital display that basically just pulls down a webpage and displays it. Not to complicated.. but complete overkill IMO.

Anyways, they originally bought a "smart" TV to test and that failed miserably due to network restrictions, proxy settings, and overall cumbersome setup.

What I don't want is another Windows box (with all the patching/maintenance/etc.) just to display a webpage, so I'm trying to get my hands on a Raspberry Pi. I'm curious if anyone has any other suggestions though for something small and cheap to connect to the network and provide a non-interactive webpage. Just as long as we can connect it to a 24-32 inch LCD, it should be fine.

I still think they are going to balk at the price once they start looking at a screen + device in every room.. but I have to at least make an effort ;)
