Digital audio on a Nforce3 system

Hey guys..

I need to get a digital SPDIF signal from my PC to my Denon AVR 2802, I've given up trying to get the onboard audio to talk to my receiver in 5.1, it just wont give me a sub channel. It's a Shuttle SN95G5, and even running AC3 plug ins and playing WMVHD files I still get no sub woofer channel.

so now what I'm after is a recommendation on a PCI sound card that will export 5.1 channels over SPDIF to my AVR.

thanks

Well, here's a question- what do you want 5.1 for? For games or music, you MUST go analog- if games are important, go for the Audigy 2 ZS, and if not, go for something from M-Audio. For movies, your current solution *should* work.

yeah.. I think the only chipset that can do that is the Nforce2 soundstorm. I had it hooked up digitally to my external DD/DTS decoder and it automatically lit up what it was passing through.. my Audigy2 doesn't do that.
