DialUp Internet Sharing with win98

I know its sad, I still have dialup, and a computer running win98. but anyway, here's the problem. We have 2 computers, one with 98 and one with xp. the xp computer is not turned on all the time, its just too loud, so I want to set up the 98 box to be dialed in all the time. but the windows networking wizard doesn't want to let me share from the 98 box.

any suggestions as to how to set it up? or maybe software that exists to do it?

I used to use a piece of software by SyGate back in my Win98 days.....but it seems Sygate has moved onto more professional products and no longer offers their sharing product.

While I was waiting for cable install I was stuck doing dial-up via my laptop with win98..... fun times.

Anyway, Analogx Proxy was the fastest way to get online for me at the time:

Are you running 98 or 98se? Internet connection sharing didn't come with windows till 98se. to use it you have to have it installed it doesn't install it by default. to install it go to control panel/add remove programs/windows setup/internet tools / and check to box next to internet connection sharing and then click okay and then apply. that should give you an option in dial up networking for sharing the connection. I'm still stuck on dial up and have used it alot and it works fine, also makes a quick dhcp server for lan parties. hope that helps.
