D3 is one game I won't be buying but will be playing the off line version.;) WTH does a SP game need to be online for. I play a lot of SC2 and drops &pauses are bad enough but I get MP out of it. Why do you get here?

sc2 is dying. only about 10% are playing as a year ago. Only sold half of sc1 despite being able warez sc1 easy and LAN mode. And besides that you can already find both d3 and sc2 at news servers and torrent sites. Thier anti copy protections backfired as they always do and will for d3 gold. It will be #1 at piratebay. bank on it. So yeah - how about giving consumers what wewant and what built you, not live off past glory and trying to hoard, pigs get fat hogs get slaughtered.

Laughable. Same tired stories and excuses every hacker gives...

OK this is horsecrap

Let's declare tomorrow as May 15th and be done with the waiting

Whats your point? Game will not be worth $60 to many due to restrictions. Free and no restrictions will be a reality and your high horse wont change that.

no dude.. just no.

diablo 3's piracy protection is pretty much brilliant, a lot of stuff is server side ( monsters, items, bosses, & more). unless you are playing on their server it wont be the same. SC2 took a long time to crack. and plenty of people play sc2 professionally and casually.

than why bother even posting here? I bet you'll still buy it thats the damn problem with people like you. Man this game blows no way it's worth 60$ dollars. two days later you pre-order and you are playing it just like 90% of SWTOR subscribers.

Dont expect ANY new game, especially one like D3 to go for under $60. No. Just No.

Lol, cmon man. Think a little.

So is anyone holding a gun to your head forcing you to buy :p

I'm about 99% sure that diablo 3 will be a smash hit for blizzard.

Havent paid more than $50 for almost any new release (I think battlefield 3 was $55?), theres always some website selling these "$60" titles for the standard price of 49.99

$60 is just a markup to try and get the same price for PC games that they sell console titles for.

I will agree that 60$ is silly. Especially because Console games are 50 dollars plus a 10 dollar fee from the console owner (microsoft, sony, nintendo) software sales is where they make all their money thats why they can sell their consoles at a loss.

PC's however dont have a manufacturer and should be sold at 50 dollars.

again it's silly to complain about the price of a game anyways. games are cheaper now than they have ever been. games were 50 dollars when I owned a SEGA Genesis. If you factor in inflation games should be up to about 80$.

If you really want to be an honest 'thief', pirate the game and send Blizzard a $60 check for their copy of the game, or send me a check for $60. Either way if you want to claim the moral high ground pay up.

Diablo 3 is going to be a smash hit with the WoW generation. Any true fan of the old, real, Blizzard will laugh at the game.

Let's list some things off that you people conveniently forget:

*Internet connection required 100% of the time to play
*No LAN
*No PvP
*Real-money auction house (there goes free TRADING, the single BEST thing about Diablo 2)
*Smaller games than Diablo 2 (which was 8 players per game), due to an imagined hardware resource shortage. Yes, me and 3-4 people is how I want to spend my online time. The average gaming computer nowadays could run 20-player games at medium settings and 1080p over 30 FPS.
*WoW-style candy graphics, aggressive blur and bloom that can't be turned off, and a sickening blue-green Ashenvale glow over it all.

But who am I kidding. The same people who salute Steam and other manditory, third-party programs as saviors of the gaming industry will eat this stuff up. But you people will realize the error of your ways when its too late.

Seriously? You are just spinning anything that you can to make the game look bad. Pvp is being added at a later time, Blizzard felt it wasn't ready to be put out at release and thought it would be unfair to delay the game for that sole aspect.

No one is holding a gun to your head making you pay real money for auctions. They have both real money and in game money options available. You do know you can buy D2 items online, right? All they've done is make it more difficult third parties to make money.

I have over half a dozen cards that will max out Diablo 3, it isn't a technical masterpiece.

"Blizzard felt". You can almost hear the pathetic adoration in your voice. You'll swallow whatever they give you.

Wake up: the Blizzard you grew up with is dead and buried. Nearly every single person who worked on the original starcraft and diablo 2 left with Blizzard North years ago.

All they've done is decide to cash in on something they've been completely unable to stop. Their "moral objection" to buying items ended the moment they realized they could be making money off it.

If you think an auction house is an "option", that there will still be free and rampant trading as in Diablo 2, I've got a 20 billion dollar bridge to sell you.

I've been in the D3 beta for a while and have had a blast, have leveled multiple classes to 10-13 more than once. Every patch I relevel everything to see the changes.

It runs great on my 680 as well as it ran great on my 570s, I run at 1600p but the game isn't very demanding as mentioned.

People keep bringing up the online only thing and lag. Listen, I have several friends who played hardcore only for years and NEVER lost a character to lag. People that lose characters to lag are typically full of it and blame it on lag for a mistake they made. Lag is a non-issue, get over the online only thing. This is how games are going to be, they are going to be $60 they are going to have some form of drm and they are going to require connection to the Internet.

Yes, it's a "single player" game that requires Internet, but that's because you can turn the game onto public at any time and invite friends or randoms at any time. Playing with others adds a lot of value to the game, unless you are playing hardcore characters.

I don't even know what this thread is about anymore. Pretty much every 400 or better series card should run this game at or near max. The beta runs great and is very smooth, any issues you guys are having with choppyness etc must be on your end. I play with vsync off and adaptive off with no problems and have not had problems for the several months I've been apart of the beta. Also, I think the auction house is great. Real money and game money alike since not everything is soul bound. I probably won't buy anything on the real money unless I can resell it for more, but I'll definitely use it to sell items. You're pretty foolish if you think people won't make use of the normal AH and will only use the real money one.

I've been paying WoW for years and am getting D3 for free because of it, but I would definitely pay full price if I wasn't getting it for free. I am super excited about this game, some of my friends even ordered the CE.

So how do you propose how Blizzard should stop jsp? Just curious

That is bull and you are full of it. You've never played Diablo 2. If you did, you'd know how incredibly ridiculous that sounds. I've lagged out to find my character dead at least 50 times over the 5 years I played. I've watched it happen to several friends firsthand multiple times.

You're pretty foolish if you think people won't make use of the normal AH and will only use the real money one.

Missing the point. Any form of auction house=goodbye trading, hello Blizzard-controlled economy. A real-money auction house takes the audacity to a whole new level by saying "give us more money and we'll reward you with ingame goods."

I did actually, and all I can say is that its you.

17+ hardcore characters over 10 years, maybe 1-2 lost to "lag". Same goes for several friends.

one of the friends I just asked on the topic: "Derp, no. Of my 6 deaths in diablo 2, over the course of a thousand+ hours played, only once was it due to lag. Lag was a really overrated excuse; what kills most HC players is stupidity, which they then blamed on lag."

Every HC player I know says the same thing. Deaths are due to stupidity.

After playing HC, all softcore was was pvp and trading. Trading will still be present, but I would not be mad if the game didn't turn into D2 and this was one of the reasons. I think you're missing the point of the real money auction house as well, I'm not going to be buying things from blizzard. I don't think it would be too terrible if blizzard controlled the economy either, would keep the problems that happen on MMO servers from happening, but they won't be controlling it anyway so yeah moot point.

"Blizzard felt". You can almost hear the pathetic adoration in your voice. You'll swallow whatever they give you.

You need to get off your high horse. This thread has gone bad and calling people fanboys then turning around and posting the way you do isn't helping anybody. If you don't like it, won't play it, whatever, just don't post. I haven't met too many people that sounded more anti-blizzard/diablo than you. Take it easy.

To the OP, before the thread was crapped on:

My 680 runs it great at 1600p with no issues whatsoever on ultra settings. My 570's had no problems either. I don't have any other friends with 680's yet so I can't comment, but those with 5xx's have no problems either.

I love the "Requires Internet connection" complaint. Do you blame Firefox for failing when the internet goes down? How about IRC or Ventrilo? No, you complain to the ISP. Why is Diablo or any other internet required game different?

I personally like having the requirement as lately I'm starting to like Bnet. Usually I have to use Xfire to see if a friend is on a game and to join them, this way I can be in game and see them log on and have them connect or connect to them right away. I prefer to play with friends and even public sometimes, it is pretty convenient.

This is a ridiculous analogy.

The point is it's a product that doesn't require a certain feature, and yet it will refuse to turn on without it there.

Firefox can't browse the web while the internet is down, Diablo 3 certainly could play single-player (and will, I have no doubt there will be hacks) without.

It's an artificial limitation -- and isn't blowing past artificial limitations what overclocking, modding, and in general being a PC enthusiast is all about?

Not that this is the right forum for the discussion.. (referring to the video card section)

Lame. FF is for internet browsing d3 is a solo game where internet not needed whatsoever. It's like having word online.

amyway it'[s a lot more than just LAN but no LAN is a huge problem and I belive is reason SC2 user base has shrunk 90%. you must not play SC2 a lot. I do, a lot about 4-10 hours a day on weekends, and get dropped all the time from bnet so do others. It's a PITA when your playing for 20 min only for it to mean nothing. No winner no loser just gone and afraid to start another for a reoccurance. But here at least you get competition from pvp. D3 you don't even get that. Just dropped in your single player game..

Not really I demo every game before I buy in order to make a sound purchasing decision. Never done a pre-order in my life. Games are so subjective it's difficult to trust reviews.

I swear, 90% of the people on this forum don't understand what [H] even stands for. Limitation, control, and corporate greed are things we (supposedly) fight against. It's difficult when the enemy controls your own camp as well, though.

All of this is 100% true and sad indeed, and on top of it you can add some very questionable design decisions. At the same time the amount of designing, iterating and man hours that have gone into this game is pretty absurd, and personally I will pay just to see what comes of it. If it's bad, so be it.

Blizzard hasn't screwed me yet, so I'm not opposed to playing D3. I suppose I'll give them a chance and see how it is. The story line has been good thus far.

(EA on the other hand, with two botched Need For Speed titles in my Steam library, is toast.)

If I can put over 12 hours into a game, then a 50-60$ price tag is usually justifiable.

I didn't like fallout new vegas, wasn't too into borderlands but I still put 30 hours into them. Only did one playthrough of ME2, but 25-30 hours there. ME3, same thing. There are so many games I didn't love, but if I put enough hours into then I feel I got enough value out of.

Diablo, regardless of if its amazing or terrible, will get 50 hours at least I'm sure. Perfectly worth it to me.

Lol, what a chump. You don't buy the items from blizzard, douche rocket, you buy them from other people.

You can almost hear the 3 year old single mindedness in your voice haha.

"Blizzard felt"... It's their game, and they can develop it as they see fit. They don't owe whiny butthurt sloots anything at all

b

Hey, Blizzard reaps a goddamn portion of every item sale as commission. Listing fees and closing fees ala eBay.

Not too happy with what they've done to WoW lately.

Lol, may as well whine about paypal too, then. Cash for items is happing either way, I don't see why its so bad that they integrate it rather than leave it to third party groups.

I hope all you whiners don't buy the game, that way I don't have to listen to you complain on b.net for the next 10 years while you desperately try to ruin it for the rest of us.

Diablo 3 beta is insanely dope and it's come along way :D

cannot wait for release!

In no way does this (or anything you've posted) constitute an argument for diablo 3. The game and the company are reprehensible shells of their former glory.

But the issue is larger than that. Its about pc enthusiasts and gamers happily accepting manditory 3rd party interference like Steam, praising companies like Blizzard for REMOVING basic functionality, and blindly accepting moral about-faces and evermore draconian forms of DRM. If you don't see a problem with D3 single player being online only, I really don't know what to tell you.

I'm quite sure that these "video game patriots" (in honor of the patriot act) are the same mindless horde that happily sells their most private information to google for convenience.
