Diablo 3 - Beta thread

I have a raging <3on for this game. It looks damn good.

meh i personally think stat point systems aren't that great
only few build will be used and always some worthless stat
+ i don't know how re-spec friendly d3 is but i don't want to re-spec character over and over every time item you can use drop

You don't apply stats anymore like in D1 and D2, they removed that in D3.

i know that but some people was saying d3 was dumbed down due to shit like stat point removed in this thread

That is dumbing it down . . . . . .

They did the same thing in World of Warcraft

to make it "less complex" using their words.

hate to break it to you guys, but its not a key you get, its added to your account.

see you guys in hell

:)

Do you get an email about it or do you have to keep checking your account info?

You will get an email that your account as been activated. There is a good chance that you get the email a bit after the switch happens. But its still F&F right now. If you don't know anyone that works at blizzard don't bother getting worked up yet.

I agree with you on that point, I will always miss the stat building of D2.. people these days can't seem to think up their own builds.. classic D2 was where most builds were actually unique.

wat i typed wrong
i mean it is dumbdown yes but i don't think it's anything to go crazy over
stat system isn't that great
people will figure out best build and it will be just annoyance to press key after a while
and stat system don't really make you unique in the end

Im an invitee :D
I dont have the ability to invite.. Not sure if we ever will..

Thank you mystery [H] user

Are you joking or did you really get an invite when you have neither friends nor family in Blizzard?

Benevolent secret Blizzard poster, hook a brother up!

... give to me, your CD key! :D

again, its not a key.. Its an attachment to you account, as in they essentially add the key to your account and its not transferrable..

and Be nice..
Dont go harassing people on here to find out who it is..

I really dont know why I got invited.. Im about as cool as AIDS..
I didnt ask, but im glad I was chosen as I still have a D2 account I still log into a couple times a month, and have played Diablo since its inception.. Cant wait till DIII unlocks on my acct..

That's because they refuse to design the stats in a complex enough way to make them interesting. WoW made a wrong turn when it went to the philosophy of making only one primary stat desirable for each class, and now D3 has eliminated the whole business almost entirely. Go read up on viable builds in Median XL mod for Diablo 2. You can make a dexterity sorceress, an energy paladin, an energy assassin and so many more goofy builds because the designer of that mod was willing to add some depth and complexity to the items, skills and stats. But we wouldn't want to confuse the tard casual market that Blizzard is marketing towards.

I hope having D2 activated on there is not a requirement, because I lost my CD key a long, long time ago before this cloud storage and digital download hooha started.

My Blizzard email is my real name email, so I can't go about throwing that all over.

It's only natural that they're directly adding the Beta to accounts rather than distributing keys. I made a boatload off of my SC2 keys, sold the two of them for something like $500 total, and I'm sure it's Blizzard's attempt at keeping the above from happening.

How dare one of the biggest gaming companies make a game for a massive amount of people instead of making an extremely complex super niche game for a tiny market of 'leet gamer pros'. Wonder what kind of crack they must have been smoking when they decided they didn't want to spend millions to make a game catered to a couple people.

I too enjoy complex games (I can't stand the current trend toward simplification like most mobile/social games), but Diablo III looks pretty promising. I'm curious to know what you think could make the game more complex.

@_@ was up all night watching wigens stream as well as a few others.

If I full screen and move the mouse, it feels like I'm playing!

T_T

You're only assuming you wouldn't like it. Sometimes our preconceptions of a game or game genre can turn us off the idea of even trying a game. Unfortunately, marketing demographics work very well, so the mainstream doesn't get the same diversity as the niche.

It's a cyclical problem, as there is a lot of venom directed towards the niche "neckbeard" crowd, too.

There's nothing wrong with playing what you like, but nothing wrong with trying something new, either.

no stat building, game is total shit now

i DO NOT GRIND for hours to have the computer decide where my points go and so i can make the same character as everyone else, if its all loot i proclaim this game to nothing more than a fashion parade
