Hey everyone, I just got this board today and was told that without at 24pin connector directly from the p/s, can i get this badboy to work? I know that a 20 to 24 pin converter will not work and may in fact kill the m/b.


Should I trade my roomate for the Abit AN8 or sell my BRAND new power supply to fix this problem?

Honestly, I've never had a problem just using the 20-pins off of a 20-pin PSU in a 24-pin ATX slot. I'd try it without the converter and see if it works. I've used a 20 to 24-pin adapter and I've never had a problem either. If you really want to do something, I'd get a new PSU.

I know the 20-pin inside a 24-pin slot does infact work on most mobos but i hear the DFI especially has problems and DFi themselves say not to do it, im just trying to clarify this.
