I guess I'll have to post information/images on this thread when the board is received on Tuesday.

Really though, no one has one of these?

I expect to be able to overclock the snot out of this Q6600. :)

Your looking all alone here, until now :D I ordered the Dark this afternoon from the Egg, and will post my findings once I get the board, and the E8400 that I also ordered today.

Looking forward to hearing how you do with yours, Very much.

Love the board. It really is the new Ultra-D, save for the 1 PCI-E slot. Gets my previously stuck @ 3ghz Q6600 to 3.4 with ease.

I'll be posting some images of the board itself/screenies this evening.

I have heard nothing but good things about this motherboard. I was almost goign to get one, but decided the MSI I got had pretty much all I needed and was $89 after rebate. But I personally love DFI boards, all that I have owned have been awesome and phenomenal overclockers.

my last 2 boards have been DFI. A Lanparty NF4 and a LanParty NF590 I have now. I will not buy a DFI again. But this is not because it is bad. I don't really overclock at all, maybe .2ghz in cpu sometimes.. The DFI motherboards are way too complicated with too many settings. So they are perfect for someone that wants to spend hours studying each setting. I plan to go with something simple like Asus next.

I never had an issue with my DFI motherboards.

Slowly but surely. Memory controller is definitely nice on P35. This 2x2GB Gskill set would only do 415 on 680i.

Load temps are meh...not really all that concerned. I can deal with being 28C from Tjunction. This only needs to last until Nehalem

I finally setup my rig today, but my 2gig kit of crucial ballistix wouldn't post in the rig. My roomies OCZ plat kit booted fine. The Ballistix worked fine in my gigabyte ds3r no problem though. Also the upper most heatsink prevents you from mounting a Thermalright Extreme 120 vertically so you have to mount it horizontally.

but besides that its one awesome board. I'm going out to pick up some mushkin ram tomorrow and see what I can get out of this puppy

lol.... im assuming it wouldnt boot because you were using ballistix that are rated at 2.2v because theyre higher speeds... the ddr2 800 tracers boot at 1.8v at cas 5.

I just ordered one as a replacement for a board whose problems got bad enough that I could not live with them. It should probably come in on Thursday (Wednesday if I am lucky). I will reply when I get it up and running.

Just got the chip this afternoon :( Anyhow, only running at 3.0 right now, doing some testing,etc... Question; PCI Latency, says 8 bits per clock or some weird thing, and defaults to "8"... Can't be right?

Also, my cpu temp.. forget it, bios says -2 SG says all kinds of odd things. Core temp says 40c and 31c but never budge? Very strange. I run my water at 50 to 53f, and only have 1.15v to the cpu at present, but still, temps are very low in bios etc, and core temp? Who knows... Chipset says 29c and System says 27c. Seems normal, but the cpu temp is way off.

Original bios, 10/17 according to Everest, as the screen fly's by to fast at post to see anything :D

Any thoughts? And please, if you could check the PCI Latency, would be a big help.

First thing I did was flash the 12/24 BIOS, after installing windows and burning this ISO. (I wasn't prepared or I would've done so prior to the OS install.)

That would help a lot in your case I think.

I'll check the PCI Latency setting on my board with this BIOS.

That setting is also 8 by default on my board.

The setting is PCI Lactency (per 8clks) = 8, which would equal 1 bit per clk....but I'm not entirely sure what that means, or what is optimal.

I'll have to google some, or brave DIY Street to find out. (cringe)

I did update the bios last night, no change there. Core Temp says I am at 40/42C running at 3600 with 1.21v, (while running Orthos). Makes sense as I do have great water cooling/chilling.

I did a Google search as well as DFI global forums, and did not find much as to the pci latency. In my limited Skull, :D I depict it running 8x8 or 64pci. Used to run that years ago, but not in the last 5 years or so. Hopefully more info will become available soon as to that.

I think I'll run here for awhile with low voltage until the degradation thing comes to terms with the Wolfdales. Ran 6 hours of Orthos last night at 3480,only ran an hour so far at 3600, but will test it better tonight.

The Only difference I could see that the new bios did, was to raise my default vcore from 1.015 to 1.8v or so, odd.

I got mine a few days ago and put it in. My chip is running at stock speeds. I had a bit of trouble since apparently I broke one of the clips on the heatsink. It seems to hold well enough with three and some artic silver so I am not worried. It has been folding for a day now and the temps are 53c/49c (cpu/northbridge). The northbridge is always in the upper 40s while the CPU can get to the low 30s when idle.

I have yet to overclock it but it seems very stable. I like the power and reset buttons on the board. I do however have some major beefs with the placement of the floppy IDE connector and the lack of a fan header near the panel jumpers. What terrible placement of these. I had to use another wire to convert a molex to a 3 pin fan connector because my bottom case fan would not reach the nearest fan connector.

did you mount it vertically or horizontally? (where is your fan pointing left/right or up/down) cuz i heard some people said that the TRUE hits one of the heatsinks or something and has to be installed a weird way or modded... i was going to pull the trigger until i heard that...

its just blowing the air either onto your video card or at your psu instead of going out the back of the case. BUT the air coming out of the cooler isnt hot so id imagine its only a few degrees warmer in the case

    Questions for your guys;

    - Overclocking ability aside, what is the performance and stability like for this motherboard?

    - In regards to the motherboard heatsinks, do they cool sufficiently or should they be replaced by something third-party/aftermarket ???

My previous build was a DFI LANParty Pro875B. It served me well and is now being used by someone else (sold it). I might consider saving a bit of cash and going the DFI route for my upcoming rig, but I've been able to find very little information and no reviews for this board.

The board is Solid, hardly any vdroop, and the board itself runs fairly cool. I can't comment on heatsinks tho, as I water cool the cpu/vid.

Thank you. As for the heatsink question, I was referring to the southbridge, northbridge and mosfets. I'm curious if the factory heatsinks are sufficient or should be replaced/upgraded...

All mine are the stock sinks you refer to, they are fine with an 80mm fan blowing across the board. I need to do that as for the water cooling.

Others will be able to LYK as to how they are with air cooling :)
